I still don't know shit about Green Lantern lore. Like absolutely nothing. I'm just piecing this shit together as we go.
But when I saw the actual green lantern?! DUDE. This shit was so badass.
I love when a show can make something feel huge even when I don't fully understand the history behind it yet.
And then SINESTRO shows up at the end?!?!
I don't know who the fuck this man is (except for what the show revealed), but the way he was talking about John being a threat immediately made me go... excuse me???
WHY IS JOHN A THREAT?!
I HAVE QUESTIONS.

Just for the basics. yes Green lanterns Ring can Conjure up Anything the user thinks of. it all depends on the wearer of the ring and how creative they can be. also Most People love green Lantern, and this show is no exception, But people are Definity not a fan of his suit in this show because its not Comic Accurate Enough, its too Bulky and is not vibrant green/black, w/ white gloves
Enough of people mentioning Sheriff’s husband is the voice of Dipper. How about he’s the son of Jack in Three’s Company? Sir Gooch, you may not even realize it yet, but Jack Tripper is your spirit animal!
I love that Hal just speed-runs the oath while recharging the ring lol is that why his ring is always low on charge? he never fully charges it? seems wildly irresponsible lol

green lantern has really bad reputation. there arent really great depictions of them yet and the one "green lanterns" movie starring ryan reynolds SUCKED. this show alone has already restored it

Incredible show. I love how they make it completely approachable to people who don't know shit about the character, but there's enough for us fans. For example, that "Mogo doesn't socialize" line. Mogo's a sentient planet who's also a Green Lantern and wears a giant sized ring around his equator.
Yes Green Lantern is largely loved by comic book fans and even superhero fans in general that know a lot about superheros in general
You gotta watch the green lantern with ryan reynolds. You would love it. Its a fun movie
It's an extremely mediocre movie imo but it would be nice if he checked it out since that deals in the cosmic side of Lantern lore way more than the show and it's a cool way to understand the concept from a different perspective.

Green Lantern is a well known and loved hero. Except for the Snyder movies, there's been a Green Lantern in every iteration of the Justice League. There was a standalone Green Lantern movie staring Ryan Reynolds, but it was bad, even Ryan makes fun of it (like his line in Deadpool, "Just don't make the supersuit green, or animated!"). In James Gunn's Superman movie, there's another Green Lantern, Guy Gardner. In the comics, there have been seven Green Lanterns from Earth, Alan Scott, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz, and Sojourner Mullein. At this point in James Gunn's DC Universe, Hal Jordan is Earth's first and only Green Lantern (this takes place before the Superman movie).
Lanterns use the emotional spectrum. The raw emotions you feel turn into energy, powering the lanterns which in turn charge the rings. Green is the color of willpower. A defining trait of the green lanterns is their ability to overcome great fear through willpower. It’s basically courage. There’s lots of different colors. Yellow is fear Red is anger Blue is hope Pink is love. They all have power rings. Green just happens to be the kinda of “cops” of the universe
Yeah but the Guardians don’t want anyone to know that there are other colours. This is important to know as general green lantern lore when watching the show. The guardians (GL’s bosses) told them that their is only green will power and it is the most powerful force and that’s what their rings use and their willpower enables them to fight and make constructs. Its a bit of deep more but I feel like it’s quite relevant and important in general rn.
