[Cherry Waves] New Character Sketch ✨

Hello guys! Just casually dropping here the first drawings I've been able to make after my injury!

I MISSED THIS SO MUCH GKHGFHKFGH. I stopped myself before getting too excited cause I gotta be careful, but *relieved sigh* MAAAN I'm glad to be back! 🌈

This is the second character I wanted to share a while ago but never got to. You already met her, but you don't know yet, HA. One of everyone's fav person inside Cherry Waves. I hope you'll get to love her as much as I do. WHO COULD SHE BE? Any guesses? wink wink 👀

📝SOME THINGIES ABOUT THE PROCESS📝

Soooo one of the things I want to do while I work on the second season is getting some proper actual character sheets done, like the ones you can see for animators. But before I do this, I need a general idea of how the character looks like!

I usually get to know the characters and learn about them as much as I can while I imagine the story, so they're already very defined in my mind. Because of this, I tend to go all in with a single design and then iterate and refine it, instead of making different variations at first (though this is usually a better approach).

Then when I need to get them out of my head I first sketch what I imagine more or less, and then I gather LOTS of references and keep refining. Sometimes I start the other way around. In the process I get ideas and also try to analyze and learn by observing how other artists do certain things, anatomy... etc. I might not use everything at first, but I'll keep it for future reference or ideas. SOME ARE VERY EMBARRASSING OK. But yes. Ah, the artist life xD

I get inspiration from anything that reminds me of the character, be it physically, the vibe, how they're drawn... it doesn't matter if it's real life pictures, anime, manga, you name it! Like this:

I put the most relevant images somewhere where I can organize them and see them easily and then I start sketching! I use a software called Eagle to organize and visualize my stuff, it's amazing. I'll talk about this in another post, but I'll leave the link if you want to check: [Eagle]
