the 8 steps really are an amazing framework to prepare for an interactive game without railroading.
@Sly Flourish I was expecting the pdf of book to advance to the page of the step you were talking about. However, for me it didn't move from the first page.
This is great! Thank you for doing an update like this. You know, I've been using your prep method for years and years, and I think I realized why I've had a few stumbling blocks: I often felt like there was a disconnect between prepping all the building blocks (NPCs, Magic Items, Monsters, etc) and then what you actually BRING to the table. I have always done an extra step after preparing using the Lazy DM method where I then sort those pieces into scenes and bring my notes to the table in that way. I always wondered why you never showed us that part of your own prep. I see now that you are literally ONLY putting together the pieces into a sack and organizing them into encounters and scenes IN THE MOMENT, including the combat encounters.
