Trying to get everything together and somewhat cleaned up for the next build!
There's a lot of little bits and pieces I'm trying to get together - fem shrooms, bow + arrow test anims, skeletons, slime hood, and other stuff I'm totally blanking on. Some of it goes smoothly and some of it becomes a larger issue than I expected.
Then I'm also working on the scripting for the imp's scenes in the monastery area. I'm going to try and add all the bells and whistles to this so I have sort of a template and feature set as a baseline moving forward. Which means some visual effects and audio effects and putting those together so that they can be triggered through either dialogue or gameplay events. As an example think of a charm magic visual effect. The edges of the screen would get a bit blurry and have a pink fog. Then hearts would spawn at random points on the screen, play a little floating + pulsing animation, and trigger a heartbeat sound to loop. The effects would increase in intensity as the charm magic strength increased. So you've got visual effects, animations, and sounds that all need to be created and coordinated. None of those are huge features for dev time but they add up really quickly, especially if I go in and start really working on polishing them.
So all that is to say I'm trying to focus on the big stuff and get things playable and a new build out the door. I'm still hoping to get this out before the end of the month and if things go smoothly I think that can happen. But just a word of warning - sometimes thing don't go smoothly! I'm gonna crunch a bit this week and we'll see how things go! If you have questions or concerns or anything you can always hit me up in comments or DMs or discord.
Cool, alright back to work!

Here's an idea: sky warping! So, there's this big evil asshole called N'zoth from Word of Warcraft, and it's an eldritch abomination. Its thing is corruption and warping of all it speaks to and touches. It had the most anticlimactic death in the whole franchise, but also some of the coolest visuals too. I've got two images for you, and here they are. (https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/N%27Zoth#/media/File:N'Zoth_skybox.jpg) (https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/N%27Zoth#/media/File:N'Zoth.jpg) What I mean for you to focus on in these images is the warped sky. While I do think that the intent is to show that its power is unnatural and unnaturally effecting the world around it, I also think that because of the sheer enormity of its size. Imagine, if you will, a character or structure of such stature that it disturbs the atmosphere. If size reflects power, such largeness could be used to visually demonstrate a character or building's importance or warping activities transpiring within said building. What do you think?
IMP! IMP! IMP!
I appreciate your hard work and very excited for the new build.
