9 - Hamlet 2000

There’s something rotten in the CORPORATION of Denmark??? Josh (@boshj), Brian (@spocks_brian), and A.J. (@TheFuzzyMask) whip out their bodkins and throw themselves headlong into the morose, brooding world of literal corporate backstabbing that is Michael Almereyda's Hamlet (2000). They dissect the cultural significance of Mr. Moviefone, the perils and pitfalls of adapting Shakespeare for the screen, and the surreal perfection of contemplating one’s mortality in a Blockbuster.

On Hamlet & Madness: people regard that Hamlet's melancholy, the excess of black bile, as madness, but they'd be wrong. Melancholy is also spitefulness obsession paranoia misanthropy fatalism... & a proclivity towards necromancy. Also a risk factor for build up of black bile is EDUCATION

the gun-called-sword thing reminded me that there exists a film adaptation of cymbeline where a messenger hands imogen a phone with a text message on it for her to read. like, someone texted that phone, and then that phone was hand-delivered for her to read the text

I just became a patron and have now listens to several episodes of this. Would you like to make an episode about the TV show slings and arrows? I would love to know your commentary.
