around 35 minutes, the part where Jimmy talks sounded like something Charlie Kelly from Always Sunny would write

'The End, or is it?' is something they'd do on Rick and Morty if Jerry was writing a novel to show he was a shitty writer

I had to take a break from this episode. The writing in this book is intolerable.

imagine how it felt having to read it

On the Nestle thing, I’d give him more credit if he didn’t have his own slop chocolate bars that almost certainly involved the use of child labor…

One can absolutely write a book where one is The Guy. Countless books have been written like that. I believe the genre is "Manifesto" Also it's ... like if he could have taken the piss out of himself made him into a villain

I was listening to this in the shower, and every single excerpt from the book made me want to stand under the showerhead with my mouth open like a turkey drowning in a rainstorm

Tipton's torture chamber is actually more fucked up: he's reliving the plane crash that killed his parents and sibling(s?) when he was a kid. They leave him because he dropped another contestant to his death but they also know he was being threatened with a loved ones life to do tgat by this point. But he is British so probably deserved it.

I have TERRIBLE news about the writing about 'the wars and disasters' bits, that's ALSO in the James Patterson series Maximum Ride that I was reading TWENTY YEARS AGO in like 7th grade, the secret government made a bunch of hybrid bird-teens because they were going to 'solve the worlds disasters' with them, i don't doubt that this book is written with an LLM, but that's some OLD SCHOOL Patterson writing

To the point of "it would've been better if Mr. Beast died in the book," I'm a little surprised they didn't rip off Danganronpa and have Jimmy both die at the start AND turn out to be the villain. But I guess his brand identity requires him to be both the orchestrator of the BRUTAL games and the hero at the same time.

Suffered through the book’s Wikipedia page to find a link to a USA Today puff piece with this absolute gem: “Donaldson likens his book to "The Odyssey," jumping from place to place and adventure to adventure to keep readers turning the page” Kind of like how my drunken walk home is similar to Paul the apostle on the road to Damascus, in that I keep falling over and seeing things. Please do a few mins speculating on Nolan directing the film version of Homer Donaldson’s opus

“‘The Most Dangerous Games’ brings readers on a globe-trotting adventure with a mind-boggling cash prize. The title bears no relation to the short story by Richard Connell (‘Coincidence,’ Donaldson tells USA TODAY. ‘I haven’t even read that book.’), but like the 1924 survival thriller, by the time you realize just how dangerous things are, it’s already too late.” https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/books/2026/09/01/mrbeast-most-dangerous-games-book-interview/91491511007/ This somehow makes it even funnier that he doesn’t even know what the title is referring to lmaoooo

This book was such a self suck I can only assume the accompanying video will be him bending at the waist (while standing) to suck his own dick.

The new Bible just dropped. Beast the Redeeemer statue incoming. Just imagine his calming smile beaming down upon you.

Is 450 pages the BIGGEST most BRUTAL first time collaboration with the MOST CYNICAL author? A cash grab book should be should be at least 170 pages to not insult the reader’s purchase, AND it should also be self indulgent. 450 pages of slop shows a lack of egomaniacal focus

Squid Game really cooked Jimmy's brain. Too bad he completely missed every single theme of the show and just locked into "games for money cool." When I was a child I read The Dark Is Rising Sequence and gained a life long love of reading. If I had read this book instead I would have burned down several libraries.

So I'm not sure its been brought up by anyone but Ant Tipton is an almost complete rip off of Ant Middleton a minor British celeb, right winger and former Royal Marine

Environmental science teacher here, I first heard of Mr. Beast teaching the fail sons and daughters of the Moroccan aristocracy when I gave them the assignment to report on the person or organization who they thought was the most important figure in the environmental movement. (These were 17-18 year old kids btw). I’ve never heard an American student bring this guy up

i tried to look up why they'd have this perception and discovered there's a brief and inaccurate section in some english language book that's part of the curriculum in Morocco ☹️

Hilarious episode! The book sounds horrendous. There's an anime series, "Eden of the East", that aired in 2009 (the year that Hwang Dong-hyuk wrote the original treatment for Squid Game), and also involves a life-and-death game run as a shadowy conspiracy and huge sums of money. It's a lot of fun, and the original run is only 11 episodes. Maybe good as a palate cleanser!

After hearing your coverage of him, all I can think of Jimmy Donaldson is that where the rest of us look at fictional death games and see dystopia, he sees something aspirational. Not only does it completely miss the point of those more original ideas, it reveals something very disturbing about his own world view.

Given that it was 95 degrees in San Diego today, I’m willing to call this Beast Summer. Also, I support y’all in your suffering but I did take a Beast break from this episode to listen to the cast album for A Chorus Line, which is a healing choice that I feel like TWoaPW can appreciate.

Oh man I've been waiting for this one, can't wait to hear how absolutely horrendous the literary work of Mr. Beast is.
