WARNING: Please don't share this with anyone until I have made the video public tomorrow! :) I wanted to show it to you first!
In Paralives, you can use simple but powerful tools to create and edit lots. Players will be able to create custom shapes for lots, expand their existing lot if they run out of space and even use the curve tool to create curved lot shapes!
You may have noticed the new measuring tape feature that allows you to easily draw lines of a specific length. This tool is now also available when placing walls and fences!

Cool I love it
I love that the lots can go right next to each other. How close to the edge of the lot will we be able to build? I've always wanted to build row houses or brown stones but I could only do that on one big lot in the Sims. =^..^=
I'm wondering how big we can make the lot sizes.
Same here like how big can we make it before there’s loading issues with all the decorations inside of it as well

I agree with cozy, super customizable neighborhoods! That’s my MAIN goal. Just creating a cohesive, Uber playable world.
i hope youncan build houses that are reeeeeeally close with each other and give a vibe of a cozy neighborhood, not like how in the sims 4 you can't place objects right at the edge of the limits (and not to mention how far away all houses are from your house)

I wrote it on discord chat before, but why wouldn't I write it here? :D So now I'll be lazy and just copy and paste what I wrote on discord. So here you go: (at the beginning I want to apologize for my english) Para who watched too much tv would get TV addiction and feel that they have to watch TV. If they wouldn't they would improve they skills slower or smth. The same with computer, woohoo ect. And thank you so much for all time you spent and you'll spend making this game. You deserve more than 5$ for me but I'm too poor :/ If I could I'd give you all I have :)
Will it be possible to move a building around the lot? It would be a shame if in the middle of building your dream house you have to rebuild it again cause it doesn't fit in the desired place.

Just slightly worried that the grass strip along the road will be unable to be altered, forcing us to play in suburbia all the time. Will we be able to texture it as paving?
Oh, I see what you mean. I think I'll make it so that players can edit that strip as well!

It would be great if we could build right to the edge of the lot, so create more connected buildings like in England etc. Or potentially even apartments and flats within the same lot.

It would be really cool if we were able to connect related households, like if a child moves out but lives next door. It would be amazing to be able to switch between the households during gameplay!

I can't stop watching the video!! Just for some clarification, is this tool for creating a neighborhood (since you're making more than one lot in the video)? From what I'm gathering, it looks like you can create a neighborhood from [buying] one large lot?

Difference between alex and ea: we ask ea for specific features and they are still not able to do them. Alex gives us amazing features that we haven‘t even asked for because we have a limited perspective on what might be possible due to ea that constantly tells us that everything is unpossible to include in a game (:

That's awesome...do lots need to attach to roads? Can roads be made changeable? Like to dirt or cobblestone? Wanting to do a midevil challenge
He said above there will be a World Editor tool released after launch, maybe that will allow changing the style of roads?
I want to say that as real estate is one of subjects that interests me (particularly given that as a history buff, most of the history are very much intimately tied to the land themselves), I applaud your decision to allow us to define real estate in a way that we could not have in that shall-not-be-named game. ;) What would be interesting, though, in the long run, depending on how big the world will be, is how the division of lands all over the world evolves. If there will be farms at the edge of the town, I bet that as population grows, some of the farmlands may end up being sold for subdivisions or something. I assume that only you as the player can define lot boundaries, though, so that might not actually happen unless you do make it happen. One other thing... by defining lots, it may make alleys possible. And I LOVE alleys for the urban areas.
Oh I love it, it will make setting up neighbourhoods such a pleasure. Even the sound effects are pleasing!

Aaa looks amazing! I have one question though; is there some kind of restrictions on building to the egde of thelots (ex in the sims there is one square on the edge where you can't place walls)? I was wondering if it would be possible to build something like terraced houses?
Yes, you will be able to create attached houses! When placing a wall, it will snap to the very edge of the lot :)

Lot editing can happen in existing worlds so it's not part of the World Building tool :) This tool will come in an update after release

This is freaking amazing. This is going to allow for the creation of realistic looking neighborhoods where people share a fence! I can only imagine how awesome it would be to play a family and get to see your neighbors enjoying a BBQ in their backyard or kids swimming in the pool! Maybe I am getting a bit ahead of myself but this is really something I would like to see. It would add so much realism. Awesome work Alex!
Yes that's good point about the fence sharing! I have never seen that in the sims and I've always wanted that! It would be a cool feature to have a nosey neighbour peek over the fence too 😂

Oh this looks so gorgeous and runs so smoothly! Honestly, uniquely shaped lots is something that never even occurred to me before, but it's great! And the sound effects so far are very satisfying.
