Bonus Video! Rock Hudson's hookup habit
Hello there!
In this week's bonus video, I'm going to show you some clips that were a little too salacious for my Rock Hudson video: A recording of a call where he (apparently) is arranging an amorous encounter, and some VERY frank language from an ex-boyfriend about Rock's, uh, gifts.
Also! A little sneak peek at my next video, which is about a film that you've probably never heard of for a very strange reason. I also have a new clue regarding a mystery involving Maude's husband. And my Pee-Wee Herman video is mysteriously back up after a copyright takedown, hooray!

Wish I had gotten to see the Christmas Special. Looks like it got blocked again.
Hi Matt, just want to make sure you've seen the Netflix mini-series "Hollywood" from 2020? Because two of the main characters are Henry Wilson (played by Jim Parsons) and Rock Hudson in this alternate history mini-series showing Rock Hudson first coming to Hollywood and getting signed by Henry Wilson, but as the series goes on it explores what could have happened, in maybe an ideal world, if Rock Hudson had come out as gay early in his career. Now that you've done all this research, I'd be interested in your thoughts on how Henry Wilson and Rock Hudson are portrayed.
I also suggest asking your viewers to click on the YouTube logo and liking the video there.
I'm experienced with YouTube due to the geek news site I'm involved with. Sometimes that happens to us for different reasons so we will out the response form over and over until a human responses. Then it get remoneytized.
It's amazing to read the original comments on your Pee-Wee's Christmas video. They could have been written today. The timing for getting unblocked couldn't have been better. Both the special itself and the way you present it are a huge shot of warmth and delight when the nights are long. Despite being nearly in the demographic (born 1970) I was oblivious of Pee-Wee's holiday special. Or maybe I'd been burned too badly by the Star Wars one.
Things to do in Las Vegas Comment (or possible future collab?) A group of historians from the University of Nevada Las Vegas are creating a People's Guide to Las Vegas focused on Race, Queer History, and Place. They presented at the Western History Association last year. Kendra Gage, Javon Johnson, Mark Padoongpatt and Tyler D. Parry were all on the panel. They could point out awesome stuff to see while you are there (especially since many historical places are not standing anymore; they can tell you where they were and where you can see what remains). When they are done with the project, it would be a cool collaboration opportunity about how queer spaces and places are remembered even when they are physically gone.
Mario Kart? I haven't touched it since BOTW came out, and I still play it on the Wii-U. I am buying myself the Switch version for X-Mas, so I'll have to hone my skills.
My gosh! How could i have forgotten about the Pee-wee Xmas Watch along? (Well,an okay-ish amount of various-prescribed-opiates). i digress. i SO totally would have KNOWN about Western music and Calgary and "Absolute Torch and Twang" i lived in Madison, Wisconsin and ran with a pack of hard living. crazed, mostly food, restaurant, kitchen centric lives of which,k.d. was a good piece.
Correction: I googled and she is from Edmonton, not Calgary. Also cow country though. I read an interview and she said she came out three times: first as a vegetarian (big backlash inAlberta) then as a lesbian and the as a butch lesbian.
Re: Pee-wee Herman Xmas special. I couldn’t comment in the live due to trouble logging in, but k d lang’s look was very much in her wheelhouse. Her first band was k d lang and the Reclines, a tribute to Patsy Cline. Their album that I have is “Absolute Torch and Twang”. She is from Calgary originally, so “Western” music was her original genre. I can’t believe nobody on Twitch knew that.
OHHHH that make so much sense! I didn't know about the Patsy Cline connection but it certainly fits her vibe. Wish we got to see her singing with the Del Rubios!!!
