My quest for an original sidechain compression sound begins! Finally getting around to doing the not so complicated routing required to accomplish it, and beginning to experiment with very controlled volume ducking instead of broadband full mix compression. Also many a bright tone! You can check how

A lot of new stuff for me in this mix! New drum mix (or at least a first version) to mimic Periphery's drum sound on this album, new sidechaining setup, and lots of cool new tones. Recommend you check it all out in the included project file. Hope you enjoy! PERIPHERY - Malevolent (Mix Tutorial) (You

A deeper dive on guitar tones, as well the "not-band" portion: electronic instruments and post-production effects and techniques. I've been having a lot more fun with this part of my covers recently - even creating my own synth patches and showcasing some of that in the mix videos - and I hope it's

Learning from mistakes on this one, and I hope you learn something from it! Be sure to leave any comments and questions as usual :) Thank you for your support! EDIT: Remembered something important (I was NOT locked in filming...), I forgot to mention a key player in this mix - volume automation. The

Building on the tones from the Mr. God cover! A lot of extra production on this song though, with much more variation in dynamics and sounds. Hope you dig! PERIPHERY - Everyone Dies Alone (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

The lowest I've ever tuned a guitar, and how I mixed that! Featuring a new ampsim on guitars, one of my favorite bass tones I've dialed in, and some good ideas for drums. Hope you like! PERIPHERY - Mr. God (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

Includes some cute Reaper tricks like naming your FX, and lots of automation vibes that ended up requiring said naming to keep organized. Plus now the project file, as always. Enjoy! ERRA - further eden (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

EDIT: Now with the project file attached! I think I finally nailed the SLL-style bus compression to my taste. I also did some sacrilege on bass in this one (it's clean, there's no distortion... IT DOESN'T GRIND UP THE CENTER CHANNEL!!!) and mixed 2 sets of rhythm guitars at the same time, a rare occ

(EDIT: Now with the project file included!) Making the most out of a simple band mix. In this one, namely through juicy master bus processing, bass and guitar stereo marriage trickery, and all that love. Leave any questions down below as usual! MESHUGGAH - Rational Gaze (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

In which I dial a very cool guitar and bass tone combo, as well as go into some orchestral programming. I'm not sure why my camera is going out of sync sometimes in the screen caputre software, thankfully the video is still fully valuable of course haha. Leave any questions down below as usual! FLUX

Some things I forgot to refer to that I usually cover in the tutorials: I'm simply pitching the audio items -1 semitones to get the low B's in that one riff ... ...omg I knew I forgot two things but I now forgot what the second one was. Another good reminder for you to leave comments as usual in cas

Here is a deep dive on a lot of production that usually goes into this type of music. Breaking down the automation tricks for pitch shifting and to make it sound good, synthesizer patches I created, and FX that run throughout the song. Had a lot of fun with this, in addition to the usual "band" mix.

In which compression takes center stage! Lots of talk of compression in this one, from the master down to individual tracks. Leave any comments and questions down below, as usual! Featuring a new, "natural-hyped" drum sound, as well as many guitar tricks without pitch tracking ring modulation. I couldn't get anything that worked for free on the internet, so there's some creative guitar-synth inventions that were born here hahaha! Hope you dig it, and leave any questions down

This is one where I'm very proud of the rhythm guitar processing. Considering my entry level 8-string, this tutorial I believe will be very applicable to those of you trying to get the best possible tone out of your guitars. It's not that you would also grab the same stock Gojira tone and copy what

Lots of fun mimicking Buster's style. Thankfully the guitar tone was a free ride, hahaha! But the bass and the remaining production elements were fun, and key. Hope you guys dig, and leave any questions down below as usual! BUSTER ODEHOLM - Consume Exhume (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

A very special one where we do a LIVE mix! Available for all tiers. ❤ Working with very little tracks, some of them not sounding very good, and applying a completely diffferent mindset to the typical all-direct home mix. A special ONE HOUR retrospective rundown of the Soul Despair "Crimson" EP mix! With vocals and everything, this is a very complete video and different in approach than my usual, since it has important considerations on how I approach band work, and stuff that is "not my own" - what deserves to be fr

Blowing shit up to insanity. Thought of the day: when you only get a minute, you can blow people's ears off and have more fun than when managing a normal length song. Enjoy! KUBLAI KHAN - Antpile 2 (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

Having lots of fun without being tuned mega low. Honestly, with a focus on slid mids, my good old Squier going out of pitch, and the old Sire bass, I think this cover ended up with a vibe the original song definitely has. I hope you liked it as much as I did! Leave any questions down below as usual

Reviving an old underrated drum sound, as well as paying lots of attention to guitar, and none to bass (and still having it sound monstruous lol) MONUMENTS - Nefarious (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

Hello people! Today's "mixing tutorial" is special. Since I'm using the Producer Pack official stems there's not a lot of "mix" to showcase, so this one is a discussion about making your guitar sound better when pitch-shifting, as well as different ways you can do it when playing. This is something

A big run of special effects and production, as well as epic tone. Hardly a feat compared to Acle's amazing dynamics on this, which I will continue to NERD OUT about! TESSERACT - War Of Being (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

Lots of work on guitars and piano, funny enough! Also a special bass tone in there :) PERIPHERY - Dracul Gras (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

Featuring an insane guitar depth trick. Also using a lot of clipping and going into why it is useful! INVENT ANIMATE - Immolation Of Night (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

Expanding on the Earthless sounds with some very effective adjustments and extra tricks, plus an orchestral section! HUMANITY'S LAST BREATH - Tide (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

Getting the lowest guitar tone ever. A lot of learning by comparing to the original album stems (you can get them on the HLB Bandcamp), mainly guitar insights and leads both real and synthesized. This is a good one! HUMANITY'S LAST BREATH - Earthless (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

A lot of interesting little synths and much guitar production, as well as the sickest bass tone on the channel yet! PERIPHERY - Zagreus (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

Just drums bass and guitar on this one, and quite a nice melding of them at that! Enjoy :) ALLT - Emanate (Mix Tutorial) (YouTube)

This one is all about the guitar tones! (and a bass fail lol) Djent might not be a genre but it is a sound, and I'll chase it ;) Hope you enjoy as usual! https://youtu.be/ywAS2tbShNQ (YouTube)
