Malevolent Planet 2D - Decisions, decisions...
Hey! For the most part I think the public build actually doesn't have any crashes or any bugs at least nobody seems to have reported anything like that.
I'm thinking about updating the Patron build(s) this week to include the latest fixes together with the big one, the issue that can cause the game to go not responding which was fixed by updating Unity from 2020 LTS to 2022 LTS.
This is because since there are new people who joined, it's unfair if they can't play the game properly from the very beginning on a Patron build. I'm also going to maybe give myself a challenge.
To save on time, the checklist from Friday's post is still valid. I'll be focusing on the bulletpoints from that post together with the following:
Bugs:
The Gallery Viewer doesn't work properly. I made a fix for this when I implemented addressables, but something probably got messed up and it may be an easy fix to get them working again.
Content:
Continue writing dialogues for what happens post Gaia 1.0 First Contact to lead you to the human camp and add some interactions in there.
Animate one scene.
Draw another scene.
Release(s):
Release a new Scientist/Explorer Patron build this week which will have all the bugfixes the public build has + some new content (mentioned in the above bulletpoints). I think I can maybe manage to do this on Friday.
Social Engagement:
Post/schedule some WiP(s) for this week and the next.
The challenge is to provide some new content as well in addition to bugfixes. If I manage this, then in 2 weeks I can update the existing build with more content I'll have by then.
I think this way everyone is happy, since existing Patrons get to see newer content and new Patrons get to play the game without (so many) bugs.
I hope I'll manage because it's a relatively ambitious endeavor, but it's the only way it's worth spending time compiling a new build.
Have a nice week!
