Malevolent Planet 2D - Recharging Batteries

Hey! The beginning of this month is finally marking the beginning of Winter, or at least Winter-like temperatures where I live. This week and the next, we won't have the Monday's News (other than today's) and Friday's News posts, due to my departure at the end of this week. Fortunately, I'm only gone for a week (meaning I'll be back by 18th December, Monday) and I'm preparing outlines for this month's art schedule so I can fill in the colors and the shading on a drawing tablet. Here's the latest development week conclusion status update if you want to check it out.

I'll lay out what I want to do this week, starting with the...

Bugs:

  • Well, there's nothing here for this week. I fixed many bugs I encountered during my own testing in the 2 previous weeks and I'm on the lookout for more.

Content:

  • Render 2 scenes and sketch them up so I can do the shading & coloring while I'm gone.

  • Finish 2 maps that will be introduced for this month's mission and implement them into the game if I have enough time.

  • Write dialogues for this month's content.

  • Set up the flow starting from finishing curing the crewmates to reaching the new area(s). The first mission will be about finding a water source for your crew, since the water treatment facility is broken and Alberto's not in a good enough shape to get it fixed. This gives us an excuse to reach the Waterfall.

Releases:

  • Do a public release this Tuesday or Wednesday, including all the content up to the point of finding the letter at the end of day3. This means that there'll be a new accessible animation in the garden, but there won't be the 4 newly accessible scenes in the Sanitation Room. That update will be split into two after this one because due to the fact that I disabled the lighting system, some particles I was using as environmental effects now look strange in that content.

  • Send the WebGL build of the upcoming public release to these websites that host NSFW games and bring in a lot of traffic.

I think that's all on the immediate agenda. I'm aiming for a new Patron release around 21st of December. I'm happy I managed to include a relatively functional system that allows you to begin missions from inside the ship and that I managed to take care of most of the bugs I noticed in my own playthrough.

There's one bug however that I want to fix once I'm back. When you quit to the main menu after loading a save, the game doesn't behave as expected and I'll need some time to figure out why.

Thanks for your attention and I hope you'll have a pleasant time during these 2 weeks!
