Assuming Direct Control
Hello! As of today, I can say with some degree of certainty that the "back to the ship" content is finished and planning for the overall plot of the city has commenced and it's moving along already. The implementation itself will have to wait until the plan is good enough.
Regarding what I said I need to do at the beginning of the week:
Add a few dialogues with Alberto in the vents sequence. ✅ This is done now, they're pretty short and mostly focused on the minigame.
Add the hacking minigame in-between those dialogues ✅ This is also done. I have improved the previous system I had built for the puzzle minigame, making it more modular/flexible and allowing me to easily insert new puzzles into the game, though drawing them is its own challenge.
Test the flow between being back at the ship and starting the quest to enter the city, adding expressions where they're missing, any typos or grammar mistakes, etc. ✅ I've also done this, the flow works as per my own testing from the waking up back at the ship to trying to start the "Enter the City" quest which will for now play a dialogue telling you it's still in development so it can't yet be started. I'm not certain about early game content though, I've made some improvements and refactoring in the game's code which may affect things in an unforeseen way.
I can say that this month went better than expected, I didn't even expect to be able to finish making the boss battle system from scratch for this update but not only was that done but I also had enough time to write new dialogues and add an illustration that was planned to be shown after the boss battle (if it was won) and a big dialogue that concludes the quest itself and lets us pacing-wise to get started on the City content.
There's also the hacking/puzzle minigame added and I'm happy we finally have some minigames because we need to take advantage of Unity's versatility even though it can be a headache to deal with sometimes.
I will return on Monday with my plans for the next week, one of my tasks will be to release a new public build to hopefully get more wishlists on the Steam page and if it'll be necessary to also release a hotfix for this release.
Thank you for your support and I wish you a pleasant weekend!
