Almost Thereπ - ππ (find all the bugs and fix them)
Hey! I didn't make a post this Monday because the sickness that seemingly never left made a very unpleasant reappearance over the weekend and this extended towards the beginning of the week.
However, as soon as I could work properly, I went right into it and released the patron builds for this month. I've also released around 3 hotfixes in the same timeframe for it thanks to kind people who tested the game since Wednesday.
One of the bugfixes includes support for ultrawide, I've found a way to scale the UI so that it won't be cut off on ultrawide like before. This won't affect most players, but it seems to have helped with some Android devices because the minimap was cut off.
Currently there's only one scene left to unlock for the village, and with its release the village ending cutscene will also take place. Work has already started on the scenes in the ship that link the village ending to the beginning of the Hub/the City, area that'll have a more dynamic flow than the Village did (many more side quests, you'll be able to go back to the ship and come back, multiple locations/buildings to explore that aren't necessarily connected to the story ending but add extra content, etc)
So the village ending cutscene release will take place in December, and from January forward I'll be releasing the content for the ship. February might be a bit slow comparatively, but the goal is that the City should be started as soon as possible, however, because it might be the final location in the first iteration of 'Malevolent Planet 2D', it's going to get a lot more attention and depending on player feedback I will figure out if the main story should be developed all the way to the end or if there should be a focus on side content at first.
Other than that today I need to make a public release because more exposure always helps. I will return on Monday with more concise news, currently there's a lot going on (even non-development related) so I'm a bit distracted because events are taking place that are also affecting me directly, but unfortunately I don't have much control over them.
Have a great weekend and again, I hope you'll be luckier with the autumn/winter viruses than me π€§
