Dev Video: New Emotes Chapter

We're busy, busy bees this month! Today, we implemented a new Emotes dataset in the game!

This is a big deal because adding new dataset types isn't easy, and we've typically only had a few so far for things like Props, Hardware, Cosmetics, and Building Materials.

This new dataset allowed us to create a 'chapter' or page in the Craftbook, then display all the lovely emotes we'll be adding to it!

The Wardrobe was always meant to hold an Emotes page, where players can hopefully choose a selection of reaction animations to be called upon in gameplay. Though we haven't set up that last part yet, we're off to a solid start by previewing the emotes right when you click them!

We've also given it all the good stuff other datasets have, like its own icon (these are placeholders), title, author, description, etc... Even the little things can be loads of work!

Of course, emotes are only very useful when you have someone to share them with! We don't plan to revisit them with more support until we have multiplayer prototyped further, but this was a quick and exciting step toward adding even more self-expression. <3
