Dev Video: Movement Animation Update
Since our Official Trailer in December 2024, we've made various adjustments to Stuffy for gameplay and visual reasons. For one, we've reduced the player's size by around 10%. We've also made all-new animations and transition setups for them...
In this video, you'll see us briefly testing some of the new animations along with using the Wardrobe in the middle of gameplay. This was to test that preset outfits properly apply and bend with Stuffy on the fly!
The most noticeable animation changes include:
new running-turn animation
new jump and land animations from both the idle and running states
new 'extreme' fall and rise animations for long jumps and upward movement (such as on fans, trampolines, or blink bubbles)
There's still more to do before we consider Stuffy's movement polished, especially from the coding and tuning side! However, these new visual updates are a nice step toward a more weighted and fun character -- especially with the extreme arm flailing while falling or rising!

Your doing wonderfuly guys 💕 We are proud of what you have all done so far.
I like this! My only minor issue is that the animation when you're pulling yourself up on a ledge looks a bit stiffer compared to the more bouncy movement animations. Great work though guys, its looking really good! :)
The animation when stuffy switches outfits is no joke the best thing I've seen all month
Oh my god!! The movement is so smooth and bouncy, perfect for a little teddy bear🥹🩶🩶
Both the movement and UI look fantastic! I must have mentioned it a million times but the music is the best part for me, it really adds to the game and feel. I noticed there wasn't any audio for the jump and landing, will there be in the future?
Thank you! ☺️ There’s no game audio in this video, sorry about that!
Amazing Job guys it looks really smooth

The animation is looking smooth, but the camera's movement is kinda sudden in places. For example, at around 0:14 when stuffy climbs up a ledge, the camera suddenly snaps into place after the animation finishes. Great progress though, which is always nice to see :)
Thanks! 🫶 The camera snapping is a known issue, as we haven’t worked on climbing for a few months now. This would be a polish goal. 😄
The movement's shaping up to be really sweet!! My only minor gripe is the jump / land animations feel like they don't have as much anticipation / follow through to feel as satistfyingly weighty as I'd hope but it's absolutely just a nitpick. Looking great!
Thanks! 🙏 🥰 For the jump animation, do you have any ideas for how it could be more built up or anticipated? Because it happens quickly, there’s no time to bend down before leaping up, so sadly that solution isn’t in the cards. :(
The update I've been waiting for! Fantastic work 😁
Thank you!
the costumes and animations tickle my brain so nicely, it’s like i’m about to relive my childhood all over again 🥹 keep up the fascinating work and improvements, Trixel team! 🧡🧡
💖
Well done! Looking like a huge improvement
Step by step 🎉
