Restitched Dev Video: Music Settings
We're playing around with newly added Music settings in this short video. One of our favorite additions is the ability to change the pitch of any song! You can even move the pitch into the negative values to reverse the playback.
Giving the creator more freedom where possible is always a good thing, as it helps us get even more usage out of a single asset. By changing the pitch or playback of certain tracks, you can nearly turn them into entirely new songs!
You'll also notice us playing with the collider shape and size in the clip. :)

Cool stuff! I’m no music expert but I thought that tempo was the speed of the track? Isn’t pitch like making it sound higher and lower? Or is this tweak those two things combined?
Good catch! Usually they would be separate in sound software, but Unity combines this setting under the name “Pitch”. So it’s likely taken directly from that feature! 😅
0:19 mario games when the timer reaches 100 seconds Jokes aside, I really love the pitch feature! Adds a lot more depth to music choice, plus you wont get sick of hearing the same songs in levels nearly as much.
That’s a very good point! Hopefully we will see some neat reversed time effects and people using pitch control for calmer or more hectic music. 😄
