Weekly #325 + a new Tara story

Last week we had a barbarian in the snow at night. The best caption was HaloGrl's diversion from the trope that fantasy heroines like wearing what we always have them wear.

"Come over here so I can kill you, already.  I'm freezing in this outfit."

Nice one, HaloGrl!

I've written about half of the scenes for Toro 7 Ep7 and Mortze has started doing images for it. But, this week, we're going to talk about something else. While we were working on Ep6, I also wrote "Love," which is another Tara story. After we finished Ep6, Mortze did a bunch of images for it. And today I'm releasing it.

This is the latest in the series that contains Rain God, Westbank, Sister, and Monsters. Love is a mashup of Film Noir and Film Neon, and Mortze did two copies of each image--a color one (Neon) and a black and white one (Noir).

Here's the link to all 5 Tara stories. https://www.mediafire.com/file/9wwou5nla4ne29f/Tara.zip/file

As for this week's image. We've got Tara at the piano. Do you think she's playing "Misty?"

Tell me in captions.

I was a bit surprised by "Love". Not because it was fantastic - I expect that from you two. I'm a little stunned at the happy ending, since that seems a bit incongrous to the "detective film noir" (and the fact that it DIDN'T end with Moon heading out the door after being chastised by Estelle. Seemed like the perfect "end of chapter 1" point.) but I'm downright shocked that you included the color images. The "film grain" and increased contrast in the b&w images adds SO much atmosphere. I'm really glad I read it in "noir" mode. Could almost HEAR the lonesome wail of a saxaphone on the soundtrack. (It also makes the "wrap up" picture pop.) There were a couple images that were almost TOO dark, but I still thought that worked. If anything, I half-expected to see some "Sin City"-esque splashes of color in a few of the more "Blade Runner" cityscapes. Either way, I'm a big, big fan of this series of short stories. If you get the urge to do more of them, whatever the genre, please indulge.

I'm really glad you liked the B&W images, LB876. I originally asked for them to be B&W and Mortze said that I'd like the Neon ones better. He was right, I definitely like the Neon ones better. :-) So much so that I considered not including the B&W ones. Mortze also explicitly put in the "film grain" in the B&W. There's a reason I trust him on all things visual. --Tlaero

"Do you think she's playing 'Misty?'" I suspect she's playing Amon Amarth. :p
