Winner of the Weekly #106 caption contest
This week we had an image inspired by the source material for the upcoming Alita movie. At the risk of needing to turn in my Nerd Card, I'll admit that I'm not as versed in this material as I probably should be. Mortze certainly is, but he's still in an internet-free exile. So I picked the caption that I thought was the most funny. If I missed a clever refrence to battle suits, my apologies. :-)
My favorite caption this week came from SquirrelyOne:
"Baby, I saw you and my heart literally stopped."
*zzzt*
"Wait! No! Not LITERALLY literally!"
Nice one, Squirrely. Humorously, Alita is Japanese, and "Squirrely" might just be the hardest English word for a Japanese native to pronounce...

Thanks. If you can't tell I'm not a fan of 'literally' being accepted for use as 'figuratively.' Yes, I know that language changes, it's just not a change I'm glad to see. English has too many auto-antonyms as it is. I'll cleave strongly to that position and cleave asunder the arguments of those who disagree. ;)
This 'literally'-'figuratively' thing is literally happening in Spanish, too.
