Progress 18 January 2026

This week, Mortze and I worked on brainstorming ideas for the potential Toro 7 sequel. And he created some environments and character models for the game. We haven't forgotten about DF: Signals. That game is the next one we'll release. But it's helpful for me to do the brainstorming while I'm still figuring out the game's story.

In general, when I write a story, I'm best off if I start by figuring out the start, the end, and a few important spots in the middle. I've currently figured out the start, but I don't have the end or the middle worked out yet. This will take some time, but that's okay, because Mortze is going to be busy creating images for Signals for a while.

Separately, we're still talking about AI animations. There's a poll for paid patrons in the post above this one. I'm going to keep it running for a few more days, but the percentages seem to have largely locked in. Roughly half of you don't like AI animations to a quarter who do like them and a quarter who don't really care one way or the other.

It's pretty clear to me what we should do, but I'll give the poll some more time and then talk to Mortze about it.
