Last week I released Puzzle Date to the public. I'm glad that people are enjoying the Match3 aspect of it. When I sat down to do an erotic puzzle game, this is almost exactly what I was hoping for.
I knew that the AI animations were going to be controversial, and I was right. We're having discussions in various places on people's take on them. We haven't decided yet whether or not we'll do AI animations in future games.
Thank you, again for all of you who wishlisted Toro 7 on Steam. For anyone who went so far as to buy it, thank you twice! I'm loathe to keep asking for things, but it would really help us if people who bought it could post a quick review on the community hub. I'm not asking you to say the game is perfect. It's not. Honest reviews are the best bet.
This week, Mortze started working on our next game, Darkness Falls: Signals. He's doing the preliminary heavy lifting that these games start with. Modelling the new characters. Touching up the existing characters. Setting up scenery and indoor spaces. Etc.
We've also started brainstorming on a potential actual game in the Toro 7 universe. (Puzzle Date is officially a Toro 7 game too, but just barely.) We haven't decided yet, but we might do this before the Elsaverse game that comes after Signals. I've currently paused working on the script for that game and am spending my time figuring out the story for the Toro 7 game. It's really early days for that, though.

I found the game to be a fun little diversion, but I agree that it shouldn't be a regular thing. Making a fun and balanced puzzle game is deceptively hard, and I applaud the accomplishment. I do love to see variations on the established formula, and it speaks volumes that you can do something so radically different without compromising the expected quality of sexual gratification and character depth. That said, I don't find the Toro7 universe to be as interesting or engaging as Sangrive. For one thing, Sangrive already has sci-fi elements to it (in fact, it's like that universe was built to accommodate all manner of sci-fi and fantasy concepts), which makes the Toro7 setting rather redundant. I might add that Sangrive is a huge and interesting original world with concepts and characters that are far more interesting than yet another sci-fi dystopia. With regards to the AI, I have mixed feelings in this particular context. Yes, AI is a problem because of the environmental toll. Yes, AI is a problem if it means giving money directly to corporations and executives who are actively working to destroy our economy and our climate. However, another huge issue with AI is the matter of scraping copyrighted data from all over the internet and regurgitating it into some bland and soulless composite. I'm assuming that the characters and assets are of your own design, and the end result is on the higher end of what I'd expect from a Tora Productions project. So I don't think that plagiarism is necessarily an issue here. Unless you're using software that's collating data from your project for use and/or sale somewhere else -- you'll want to be cautious about that. Ultimately, what really matters to me is this: Is it being used to help creative people with tedious jobs, or tedious people with creative jobs?
