Progress 4 January 2026
It's been a busy week. Toro 7 was released on Steam, and I had to do some things as a result. Thank you again for all of your wishlists. In the post just before this one, I sent a link to all of the weekly images from the last two years. Make sure to grab it.
We also finished Puzzle Date, and I've sent the beta to Partners. I'm not sure when I'll release it publicly, but it will be within a week.
Next up for us is Darkness Falls: Signals. The script (minus the sex scenes) is written, and Mortze is going to start making images for it tomorrow. If the original Darkness Falls series was like episodes of a TV show, this is like a TV movie--longer than an episode but not a huge multipart epic.
I'm still working on the Elsaverse game that comes after Signals. But I've also started to spend some time thinking about what a Toro 7 follow on would look like. We'll have to see how the original does on Steam. If it goes really well, maybe we'll decide to do something there between Signals and the Elsaverse game that comes after it.

Regarding a followup on Toro 7: My personal preference would be a new story set in the same universe, not necessarily with any of the previous characters. Toro was (I think) an unusual Tora production in how it felt. The claustrophobic feeling of the station really came through in every scene. Many of us fans compared it to great pre-2000 movies, like The Abyss. And that made me think of how some of your stories actually are toying with classic genres. BTW, if you were to pick a completely new genre to make a pastiche in; what would that be?
Yeah, if we do a major game in the Toro 7 universe, it can't be the characters already introduced. We'd need to support all the combinations of MC and LI introduced in the first game and then have choices to make even more in the second. It's untenable. But we could do something with a new set of characters and have appearances from the cast of Toro 7 (we just wouldn't go into their relationship status).
It ALL sounds great!
Yes : Darkness Falls !
