Picture or render?
Alright. A little hint. It's a render.
What if we could make a game with some iconic real persons? I'm sure that as a fan art it could be done but I really doubt any money could be made with it without a massive law suit.
Not the point of this post anyway.
A few days (weeks?) ago I posted about the realism and hard work that some 3D creators put into their product, namely skin texture. Today I want to point out Mousso at Renderosity who made this model. His promo picture is also really great. Check it out https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/?ViewProduct=121613
It's not an easy task to mold the facial features in a 3D software like ZBrush or Blender or to try to morph the face into something close to a real person. Real good jobs are the minority among those who try. In this case I think Mousso nailed it.
I dressed and posed the model, gave her some hair we could recognize her with. Lights are a Key mesh light to the right, a subtle fill mesh light to the left, and a black plane primitive as background lighted with a mesh light (to separate the figure from the background).
Shirt texture attempt to make it look like black silk.
Mood attempted was sensual but classic. Can't deny the real woman has poise.
That's what I do between renders for the games. :)
Cheers

Great shot! Very stylish combination of colours, lights, wardrobe, and pose. Mousso does amazing work, I think I have all of their creations on rosity :)
Thank you :) -- Mortze
With the current fad in modern photography to have a large depth of focus to make real scenes look like models and other forms of post-processing of digital photos, the distinction between photo-realism and rendering is becoming more difficult to discern. As ever, Mortze, you demonstrate your mastery over lighing an image.
Hi Mortze. do you make any alterations to these characters when you get them? Or do you just use the models as they come?
In many models I make alterations to suit my needs, but in this case I wanted to show that the model was really well done and did not change anything. -- Mortze
It is really great. You nearly can imagine that to be a photo
Amazing stuff. I am constantly amazed at what really talented people can do with animation/rendering software these days. Thanks for sharing.
