Mortze has been away this week (and will be for part of next week as well), so nothing to report on the SWM front.
I did a fair amount of work on DF: Signals and have come to a decision that I'd like to ask your opinions on. As things currently stand, in Signals you'll have a number of places where you can choose how to say something. Both choices are valid and don't cause you to fail, but they do impact your character and, to some extent, how people react to you. Importantly, though, the choices you make will impact what you can do in a sex scene.
What I'm currently trying to decide is whether getting to the end of the game should unlock the galleries of the sex scenes your choices blocked from you, or whether you should have to play the whole game again (perhaps multiple times) to see them.
The tradeoff is that the choices don't really mean much if you can just go see the alternative results in the gallery. On the other hand, playing the whole game again to make alternate choices can be a drag.
I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

Make it optional, if someone wishes to blitz for the scenes let them, if someone wants to experience entire story also let them ;)\
A scoring system, like with Redemption for Jesikka or the Miranda games would be my preferred way to go. Playing through the game 4 or 5 times to see all the scenes is too much for me. 2 or 3 times is ok, especially if the story line changes depending on the choices. I am not really a fan of exploring all the sexual orientation options, but you need them for players who want them.
I've said it before in other posts, but so long as the choices that lock out/in certain scenes aren't overwhelming or exceedingly minor, I'm in favor of multiple playthroughs.
My preference is to opt for replay to unlock. I agree replaying the whole game multiple times can be tedious. Since the more current Renpy engine allows for more saved games, don't have to replay the whole game as long as you save at the appropriate times. Lack of save slots made it difficult to unlock all the scenes for Saving Chloe.
Maybe have it ask the player with a yes or no question
so there are MORE sex scenes I missed in some games? lol... you know, I liked the way you handled scoring in the Miranda game. story moved along but you didn't get to see the sex scene if your score wasn't good enough. maybe do that again? otherwise, playing thru a second time is fine. or a third... or after a save point... lol
Thanks for the update, Tlaero!!! As for the decision. I prefer the norm. The multiple playthroughs to unlock everything. I AM an AVN completionist at heart! I will play 100 times to get everything.
