Almost done :)

As you can imagine Boba Fett is an intense build, and even more intense to get hte files just right :) i have been working on the back plate and jetpack updates for the past 10 days, and i finally its close to the finish line.

We are just inspecting some minor details and will do some microadjustments and thats it, so just to recap whats new and what to expect :)

- create new screen accurate back plate

-created new (universal) back plate mounts for jetpack that will be used down the line in all of my backplate/jetpack projects

- back plate mounts compatible with JJ industries metal parts

- created an original mysterymakers 3d printable back plate/jetpack harness that allows for scaling of the parts.

- all parts mentioned are interchangeable so once you print out the back plate and jetpack you can choose between metal or plastic parts and exchange them as you see fit

- updated jetpack parts for more detail and accuracy

- made an overall 5mm hollow jetpack to reduce weight

-  addedsliced version of the jetpack that is easy to assamble

- added a lid so you can access the inside of the jetpack

I'm quite sure i may have forgotten something , but it should be all done and ready rather soon, and then i'll make another post with more photos and instrucitons.

Just wanted to check in, let you know i am keeping busy to bring new cool stuff for all of us , so i wish you all a nice weekend, i hope to be able to wrap this up asap :D

Any chance of updating the heavy jet pack and back plate with the same setup?

My bad. Figured most people here are probably 90% up to date.

M
MysteryMakers · March 28, 2023

I want to add that printed brackets are a terrible idea 😂 I was warned by other Mandos but learned the hard way. Always use a metal hook with epoxy /CA or something else strong. It’s mainly for when people bump into you or when you back into something. If you’re not trooping for 8 hours in a crowd then you may be ok with printed brackets. It’s nice to have in the model (and some modelers don’t include any attachment details and that’s not nice) but there are sturdier attachment methods. 😉

i do agree :) buuuuuut the new ones i made are insanelly strong, i wil do some stress test :D , so far they were crazy strong i couldnt break anything , but if possible, metal is always better :D

I assume the brackets will be printed in PETG, but what do you recommend actually printing the back plate and jet pack with?

M

i printed the brackets in PLA on my test video in FB group, its insanely strong. For jetpack whatever you feel works best - some people print petg, some print in hard resin, some print in PLA, its makers choice at that point :)
