How to cut 3d models using Meshmixer
As promised i have created a video for beginners on how to cut 3d models using free software called meshmixer and the plane cut function.
Lets call this one a pilot project. The idea is to mak a small series of such videos that will cover everything needed to prepare your 3d models for 3d printing (cutting, fixing, print settiongs, orientation etd....)
I know some of you will ask so let me give you an answer. The series will not cover stuff on how to make 3d models. There are youtube videos on that topic out there, and the techniques i use are self developed and are the very thing that sets my work apart from all the other out there, so i am not ready to share those “secrets” just yet as that would just benefit my competition more than myself while im trying to grow this community. So, time and place for everything :)
Now lets get back to the video - suggestions on what info about “3d print preparations” you need the most are very welcome as that will allow me to make the next video based on your needs. For now I will cover free softwares that are easy to use so its not gonna be an extra burden on your wallet :)
Another idea is to make these videos very short, and no BS striaght to the point, so you get the info you cae for. Hope i did that part right, but i am looking forward to your feedback :)
And as always, new 3d model will be uploaded soon :)

Blame me for the video, I submitted a lazy man's request, 😴
haha, no need for "blame" :) im sure many people will put it to good use :)
Awesome! Everything sounds pretty great. Can't wait to see what else you cover!
Thank you :)
Haven't had a chance to watch the video (just saw an announcement so dunno if it's up yet or not) but if it's not shown, can you show how to make keys or slots to help assemble the models after printing? Always wondered about that.
yes, i plan to cover all these things,. This is just the first, and the focus is on cutting the mesh. I will move into other stuff on another video, bcs i think its smarter to break them down in like 2-3 minutes videos that are easy to follow. Now i do undertand making keys is mostly important fo figures, but meshmixer is a bit limited when it comes to that, so i will explore some “easy to use” methods or programs that are free so we cover the entire process of preparing a 3d print :)
