Pip boy is here :)
The moment you all have been waiting is finally here. Now you can build your own PIp boy 3000 MkV from the fallout series :)
You can find it in May folder that has been sent few moments ago, so in case you didnt get it yet, you will soon :)
But that's not all - it is being developed further, so more boards, graphics, codes, well everything will be added in the future , so this is without doubt the BEST MKV pip boy project on the planet :)
Included:
- 1:1 scale stl files for 3d printing
-3mf files for 3d printing (bambu studio)
- features like touch screen display
-open source code
-graphics for the display and for 2d print ( gauges)
- build guide and instructions
- videos of the build included to make it easier for you

- all knobs moveable
- original mysterymakers lock mechanism design ( i invented this one myself so it can be fully printable :) )

Late to the party here. Just built the touch screen version of the Pip Boy. Screen works, but there is no touch from what I can see. Images just scroll through. Is this correct?
yes, the touch is what causes images to cyle thru - i am trying to build another verison wich is a bit more complex but the arudino can not handle it so it will need a diferent motherboard , but all in due time

So this is going to be my first project of yours, and I am curious, for the print files do you typically orient the files the way you suggest printing them or should I auto-orient/orient myself?
There are both stl files and 3mf files - 3mf files are allready rotated, presupported with print settings and all :) stl files are to be used/positioned/rotated yourself :)
Why is the assembly video sped up? it's extremely hard to follow with how fast it is
the video is not for step by step follow, its to quickly get you to understand the build and what goes where, step by step guide is in the pdf file included , there you have the build, parts breakdown, parts names, pretty much all you need to put it tegether, and if you need more help understandin what goes where you can chek the quick video, instead of a 30 minute video that will be hard to navigate if you are looking for certain parts :)
Any recommendations on what type of interior cushion to use? To make it look like the show? Thank you!
Does anyone know of an easier way to connect the switch as I stink at soldering?
if you have those wires (male /female connectors) liek the ones i recommend, you can twist the male pin into a little hook arround the switch pin, just make sure its super tight so you dont loose connection - thats why soldering is better, but i imagine this would work as well , if it makes sense :D
Is there anyone in the group that is making the working electronic screen to add to the finished print for sale? I’d like to purchase one already assembled so I can put in.

Watching right now :D i think its so amazing that their entire company is working on this while having access to cad files, snd i alone managed to recreate it literally from few photos and made it work :D we are also working on V2 electronics wich will make it even better and altho their version is amazing i am now even hapier with mine as i expected more from theirs :D

What is the piece D4 used for? That looks like a doorstop?
Counter "arrow" , if you print the mask wothout details. This part is optional and for resin print only
Any thoughts about the forearm padding cuff to make it wearable. What is everyone else doing?
Hi, just wondering in your assemply guide you use 3x black spacers for the faceplate but i dont see those 3x peices on your build plate, can u please confirm?
Thode are 5x5 pons, rhey sre in the folder. Inise them across many peojects, so wwe all usually just print out like 50 of them at time and jave them arround bcs we always use them in many of my projects :)

hey Aldo, i see oyu joined the youngling tier. Pip boy is available at the “we are makers” tier, as per tier descriptinon before you join :) you can upgrade the pledge , and will get access to it :)
im having a little trouble uploading the code to the Arduino, i dont think the code is wrong, it would be helpful to have a video of how to upload the software for us that are coding noobs , thank you in advance

oh damn, you are correct, this was added by mistake, its the old "work in progress" part, i am replacing it now, will make a post, thank you for noticing it
Will there ever be a phone version of one?
This is the sizing of small size regular modern phones https://ibb.co/mtPbVMH As you can see to fit even the s23 wich is one of the "small phone standards", tthat samsing or iphone or huawei or xiaomi phones are, entire pip boy would have to be scaled up 5-6% wich will make it so huge you can fit 2 arms inside and still have room for it. Making a slot for older phones that no one uses any more and since the pip boy app has been discontinued, it just doesnt feel like we would benefot from it in any way im afraid
Quick question... Slicing, and D3 looks huge, and I don't see it in the build guide PDF. I see d1, d2, but no D3.

Wow. So it looks like you went with an LCD insert rather than trying to fit a phone. Smart
yeah, abondened the phone idea completelly. when i calculated how huge the pip boy would have to be for new phones vs the cost for second hand older phones, or just a small portion of newer phones with correct size, it jsut didnt make any sense. this way its far cheaper than any phone and you still get to play with the code and customize it :)
