Chapter five, chapter fiiiiiive, it's magic number, for magical girls. Though perhaps not so magical for poor Octavia, who is tangling with too many dangers for her tastes. When will Octavia be allowed to take it easy and play Factory-Oh!? Not yet, for it is my task to drag her backwards through peril. Oh, how she resents me. Ahem.
Anyway! We are rocketing through this arc now. I'm still not entirely sure how many chapters are left, but I'm 99% sure it's more than 1; we are at least going to chapter 7 (cue the inevitable meme number), but we probably won't make it to 9, (thus thwarting the other meme number). But we shall see! I am so very excited for where all this is going, dear readers, and I hope you are too! Thank you all so very much for being here, thank you for all your support!

This Zoog is going to have one hell of a story to tell to all the other Zoogs when he hopefully/eventually gets to the moon: "And then a fucking dragon came out of nowhere, and suddenly everything was on fire! Shit was getting crazy, so we got in a car and got the hell out of there!"
The zoogs are going to be gossiping about this for years to come! This little guy is gonna be very popular up there.
Ooo this was perfect! Burning Bright didn't *immediately* explode... But not out of self-control! As Octavia observed, it might be cowardice. Or rather fear of what will happen when Scarlet connects her identities! Also deftly played Octavia, you managed to turn aside bright at least! Though honestly I actually wanted her to drop the transformation on the spot. Still the immediate danger passed. Now how on Earth will Scarlet react to this?? She did seem to start pushing through it a couple times before magic pushed back. Will she trust Octavia's words? Even when she's not allowed to believe them? I'd like to hope so! But we will see. I do think Octavia is making the right choice in telling her, even if she can't believe her right now. Because she is right, she promise not to lie, and if she let this go he could have Consequences down the line for Scarlet herself and being incapable of trust, as well as their relationship shattering. And also so glad that Octavia stopped Scarlet from slaying her sister unknowingly. And she put herself at great risk to do so as well.
Mmhmm! Bright seems to be mostly concerned with what will happen when Scarlet discovers the truth. Is she afraid of rejection, losing whatever connection remains between them? Octavia played this by ear and somehow came out the other side. Utter desperation move, though. Scarlet does trust Octavia now, especially after everything that happened between them. But believing this might be a bridge too far. Mmhmm, Octavia seems to be making the same decision. She has to tell this truth now, or the consequences later will be so much worse. If Scarlet slew her own sister, she might never recover. Octavia knows she has to stop that.

Amusingly enough when I started writing this chapter I wasn't 100% sure if there was going to be a fight scene or not! But I am quite pleased by the result. As for 6.9, I'm not even sure if there will be a 6.9! Perhaps I should make a special interlude for it.
