(Altered for Public Release) 2026 Fleet Update
Direct Link: https://youtu.be/jLbN16TvulI
I took all of your advice and finished the fleet update for public release. Thank you all for your words of encouragement! I was taking things too seriously. For the "finished" version, to make sure I didn't take things too seriously, I've made some changes and injected a bit of silly into it.
Also I couldn't have the Explorer crushed and I'm devastated.

Do you still have the white polestar? I didn’t see it in the update
If you ever want to do a video on my (or any) 2014 Cadillac ELR, I think it would be a great electric oddity. It's a plug-in hybrid. Cadillac only made 3000 of them, they were hilariously overpriced at launch, and they were *wildly* unpopular... but very interesting and fun.
Glad you got it all off your chest and we definitely enjoyed watching the update.
Is the firmware on the Escape's VCU signed and/or encrypted? If not, you could probably just write an unofficial patch yourself using Claude, who in my experience is insanely good at inferring what code does even in obfuscated, decompiled output (where every line looks like `iVar1=FUN_00401a3f(param_2, &DAT_00408120); *(uint*)(param_3 + 0x14) = iVar1;` and figuring out what anything does or means is borderline impossible) because Claude can take the entirety of it into context and reason out enough to patch and recompile, even closed source. Firmware on a small footprint microcontroller would probably be a walk in the park for him. Strictly for personal use and not public/commercial release, of course. To my understanding, this would be covered under the DMCA §1201 vehicle repair exemption, even if you feature the fix and the working car in a video, even if you say what you did to fix it, as long as you don't specifically detail what lines needed to be added where or whatever. But if it's signed with some factory key though, nevermind. ...However... at that point you could just take out every single chip in the car, anywhere, dump their firmwares one by one, have Claude rewrite each, reflash them all (or flash brand new ones) to accept your own key signature instead. But if it's encrypted though, nevermind. ...However... at that point you could get Claude Code to help you build a quantum computer and run Shor's on their signing key to factor it in polynomial time. Then you'd only have to flash the VCU... Not so sure how the repair exemption holds up in regards to quantumly cracking the manufacturer's signing key, even if it's just for compatibility... ...Or... you could just wait for them to patch it I guess... But do think about building that research-grade quantum QPU. It might make a good video, even if you don't end up using it to fix the Escape. Just an idea.
I loved your elec-trac video. I just picked up an e12m because of that video. I was hoping to see more content on it. A 36v lithium battery just showed up at my house so I can start my restoration. I still love all your videos. Keep up the good work!
So you couldn't watch the Explorer get crushed and now you're . . . crushed
I'm glad you uploaded this one to the public! Also, somebody's been learning some graphical editing skills, eh?
You definitely can scrap the codas, remove the batteries to make it easier to sell to a scrapper. Also don't forget your year old tires at the tire place for the trabant and polski fiat. I remember you had that in the last update video.
The problem is neither has a title. Only one even has a VIN but it has never been registered
Why is so amusing to watch both videos and spot the differences? Am I this boring? Don't answer that.
The purple nebula behind the Ford is awesome 😄
Do you still have the electric Ryobi mower?
Yep! Still going strong. I forgot to mention that and the wrecked white Polestar, but neither have changed
This version is perfect, loved it! Bummer you didn't get to see the Explorer crushed but it was fun watching you try to load and unload it. Looking forward to what comes next.
adding the additional Coda and Explorer clips & B-roll definitely helped flesh it out. it's a bummer you didnt get to see the Explorer get crunched like the 'Duragno,' but i laughed out loud at the purple nebula background effect. awesome! 🤣
Good work, Robert! I'm glad to see you were able to get rid of some clutter even if you couldn't see it crushed.
Thank you for always sharing so much with us, Robert. We love you and appreciate you. 💚
I missed the original upload. Backstory, anyone?
The original post is still up. Basically, I wasn't going to post the video, but everyone said I should stop being so hard on myself and post it anyway
Surely, you can donate the Explorer shell to someone…
I was thinking the same. Like 1-800-KARS-4KIDS or similar. (https://kars4kids.org)
