Can a Rivian Stuffed Full of Batteries Take a Cannonball Record?
The project I've a part of for over two years now, and finally I can start to share it! We took a bunch of Rivian batteries, crammed them in the bed, and setup extra cooling and charging just for the extra batteries. It was a wild ride, and that's just in part 1!

I'm curious why they stayed with the tonnaeu cover instead of just using a bed cap, which would have given them a ton more room for batteries and equipment?
A bed cap would've changed the aero for the worse. I'm not sure there are even bed caps for the R1T to begin with

From the thumbnail I thought it was using 9v alkaline batteries, just imagine how many you can fit in the bed, and recharging anywhere by a store, just buy new batteries and dump the old…
I know you said not to try this at home, but... Could someone use one of those fancy magic converter boxes (plus some communications stuff) to make a NACS DCFS to J1772 Level 2 converter box? Would it be stupid expensive? Asking for a friend. Maybe.
Yeah, and my little 500e can't charge anywhere near that fast. This would just let me use a Tesla charger when I can't find a proper level 2.
Watching this last night was some of the most pure nerd joy I have seen in such a long time... And the look on your face during certain parts of it was just Bliss. Was this the same rivian that was used in the rescuing stranded motorist video?
