I'm so happy to see you back in a Think. That original Think video is how I first found your channel many years ago. Being Norwegian, we still see quite a few of these cars floating around. If I had a big garage and money to spare, I'd definitively want to have one of these beautiful pieces of Norwegian automotive history.
Woohoo You Mentioned Jet Lag... you should be on nebula!
Fun! I used to live close by what was essentially a Think cemetery in Oslo. Historical imagery from Google shows them stacked up, in all sorts of colors. https://earth.google.com/web/search/L%c3%b8ren,+Oslo/@59.93449066,10.801788,110.33334753a,92.88915467d,35y,0h,0t,0r/data=Cj4iJgokCbiuErZZeTdAEbeuErZZeTfAGd-l3F4k80ZAIZaVu9GVHk7AKhAIARIKMjAxNS0wNy0wMhgBQgIIAUICCABKDQj___________8BEAA
We need a duel between this and the Wheego!
Except the Wheego is currently a Nogo
Not me misreading this as "I think I Bought A City" ...
I actually got to drive one of these back in the day! I had a friend who worked at Ford and was allowed to take one home as a long term test vehicle. He liked it so much he had a charge point installed in his driveway. 20 year old me loved it and 40(ish) year old me is sad these never hit the mainstream.
I need to stop finding cars like this that I want because they never seem to sell them here in the UK lol (I also want a Coda but I cant get one here unless I import one I guess)
"I don't have a problem, you have a problem" No, you have an audience, and we have you :)
Haven't got all the way through it yet, but it uses an EnerDel battery? If they happen to be the "Moxie" style cells, I've got a whole MESS of them! I use them for my porch solar battery and it wouldn't be terrible if I finally "retired" them from my system to use in your car! Those cells are 12 years old and they still act like they're brand new, capacity- and performance-wise. I'll need to finish the video first 😅 But dang... finally something that uses EnerDel! edit: Lol yep, finished the video. Your "I don't have a problem, you have a problem!" is my collection of EnerDel cells and the people that worked with them (not the company, but ... let's just say I know people with FAR more cells than I do). Love to know more about that pack! I can definitely advise.
To that point: https://archive.org/details/think-city-enerdel-battery-service-manual/page/6/mode/2up - that looks like it could be a fully-packaged EnerDel Moxie system, very much like what I have (minus the proper EnerDel BMS and grey end caps). Yeah, if you end up needing/wanting cells, give me a ring! Scattered across all my projects I put them to use in, I ... honestly, probably don't have enough to build a full car pack. About 7kWh of them in use on the porch battery, 1kWh scattered elsewhere. Not proper modules, all homebrewed from their base frames and custom parts. But I can definitely find the right people that have the rest...
I'm surprised your workshop hasn't burned to the ground with all the sketchy EVs you keep around 😬 great video as always Robert , now resurrect the wheego from its purgatory
I recently purchased batteries for this! They're going into something else first, but they'll go in the Wheego after that
The European Think Citys used a modified IEC 60309 plug, specifically the blue P+N+E 6h variety with two notches cut out of it and an extra pin for the Control Pilot.
I've glanced at the title in my email several times while I've been taking care of other things. Every time I read it as "I think I bought a city". :)
Nice!!
I think it’s smaller than the Silverado.
The difference in battery capacity between this and Silverado EV is a Silverado EV
Look at that cute little Th¡ng!
I am seeing all kinds of things today, it seems. Nice to see you in the wild, I really like your work.
Need to find an Arcimoto…
