19XX, Darkstalkers and Jyangokushi!

My first core after starting Patreon was 1942. It took me about two months to complete it. About two years later, I can deliver new cores much more quickly, but the feeling towards these games hasn't changed. I am very glad to see 19XX joined the club of FPGA-converted games!
The other big title for this week is Darkstalkers (Vampire in Japan). This series of games has characters more popular than the games themselves. They have kept doing cameos in games long after the series last title. NB: This titles uses more than 16MB for graphics and is not supported on MiST/SiDi.
Finally, I have included the mahjong game Jyangokushi. CPS2 had a few games for the Japanese/Asia market exclusively. I will try to include one per week as I know there are more Asian members now.
I modified the Mappy core from MiSTer-X to support Super Pacman. The changes for MiST are already in the official repository. But the MiSTer version gets halted at boot up, so I have not merged the changes yet. I will keep spending some time in this official MiSTer core in the coming weeks, as it could support another two games. These changes will go directly to the official public MiST(er) repositories.

I still cant rotate 19xx properly, even after making the change in test mode. I can only flip on its horizontal axis.... any ideas?
The 90° rotation is available via OSD and only on the HDMI output. The 15kHz CRT output cannot be rotated, only flipped.
i cant seem to get sound on avp and darkstalker
I'll reply here again just in case: make sure you have the sound.zip file in the games/mame folder.

Hi John, Darkstalkers requires 64MB or more. Please use the latest RBF (14th March) for 32MB support on the other games.
How do you guys get the roms for CPS 2? update script?
I get the folders supplied by jotego and then I run the update all script, then everything is ready to game. ❤️💚💙🇦🇺🙂👍

You're either using the older version of the core, or have a 32MB system. Please use the latest attached file
Yep - needed to update the core - all works great now!
On Dark Stalkers a lot of the graphics such as power bars, special meters and some of the main character sprites are ‘garbled’ and blocky - it’s the only one of your games I’ve had a problem with so far.

Excellent work! :) - thank you! - Looking forward to Super Pacman too - what is the 'Load *.rom' for btw? - I've creaeted an 19xx dir in Games now for it.
The 'load *.rom' is a left over of the development builds. I normally disable it for releases, my fault.

Just unzip the MiSTer file to the root of your SD card. Remember to add the MAME zip files to games/Mame in your SD card too.

None of the new games work, and just boot a black screen. The old CPS2 games work fine. I'm using a 128MB SDRAM. I'm building more MiSTers this weekend. I will test on 32MB and 128MB SDRAMs and report back.
Welp, I pulled a n00b move. The update_all script didn't have the MAME roms linked yet. I added them manually and everything works. The update_all script now has them.

When I first got my Mister 1942 was the first game I looked for. I play it most days. I never played 19XX in the arcades but it’s great. So my favourite Mister cores at the moment are your oldest and most recent! Thanks for what you do

I'm having the same issue. New core(yellow osd) doesn't load any cps2 game, but the previous one(jtcps2_20210305) loads every game. Yes, I tried deleting all mra and old rbf, even checked the roms.
Ok, I think this may be related to sdram. I have two misters, one with 32mb and the other has 128mb. The one with the 128mb works, but if I take the sd card and put it in the one with 32mb it just black screens on all games. The core loads fine, just not the games.
This is wonderful! (I didn't copy the nvram file over - that caused the screen to be flipped :) )

wil the beta 2 core (grey menu) 19XX is working well
After ftp the new files and launch update_all script any CPS2 games are working. When i launch a game with the new core, i got the yellow menu, joystick, screen resolution, i can acmes the core menu in yellow but black screen with the game
19XX shouldn’t even boot up with the old core. Please try deleting the files and copying over.
none of the rom work with 20210312, only black screen but credits are displaying correctly
19xx for example work with 20210305 ... not with 20210312. not rom related
Those are some excellent new titles to play! I wish I had a rotated CRT setup for 19XX.
Just go in the test menu and select the flip screen mode. Remember to save the settings at the end.
A blank screen usually means that the MAME zip files are missing.

Amazing work as usual (and congrats on getting notoriety on Verge's story!)!! 19XX is booting up in vertical mode (which I like) but it's mirrored/upside down. Tried rotate screen to "No" and it puts it in horizontal mode and it looks fine, but rather play it in Vert/tate mode. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this atm?
You can copy the config folder in the zip file to the root of your MiSTer SD card. Or just press F2 and change the setting in the test menu.
