January Summary
This first month of 2020 has been pretty busy and positive.
Highlights
1. Public release of Black Tiger after fixing the background colour issue on higher levels
2. Beta release of Double Dragon 2, with the support for a new ADPCM chip
3. Video hardware of CAPCOM System 1 (CPS) implemented
Maintenance work
1. Fixed analogue video output of Double Dragon 1 and 2
2. Moved to latest official MiSTer framework (adding gamma support)
3. Fixed direct video output (still doesn't work for everyone though)
4. Fixed sprite issue on 1942
5. Fixed flip screen graphic glitches on 1943
6. Fixed timing related errors on all IP except the MCU's (this means more stable cores)
CPS Work
I started studying the system and translating the schematics. The graphical subsystem is completed to some 80% now, probably enough for most games. The interface with the SDRAM and the main CPU is also in place now. So I am hooking it up now with the video. I'm hoping to get Ghouls'n Ghosts working rather soon.
Other important task I'm involved at, in conjuction with Sebdel, Bruno and keeping other developers in the loop, is to expand the MRA file definition to support the 200+ ROM sets for CPS. Sebdel is also making a tool so users of non MiSTer platforms can also use the MRA format. This also makes development easier for digital designers working on cores.

Genial José!!!. Mil gracias por tu trabajo!!
Thanks for your great work!
Sin prisa pero sin pausa, great!
Great work !
This is fantastic
So wonderful and we ALL thank you for your great work and attention to the details!
Thank you Tomiyori-san. I'll try to keep the level high.
Are we eventually looking at 3 cores here? Eg. CPS1, CPS1. 5, CPSII or will it just be a "CPS1 and CPS2 core? Or even just a CPS1+2 as I believe CPS1. 5 are closer to 2 with qsound etc.
I cannot guaranteed it yet. I think the most likely thing is to have two cores
Great work! Do you have an idea of which other games will be available initially on the eventual beta release? Aren’t the CPS1 boards for GnG and SF2:CE similar, and just a rom swap? I know most people buy Champion Edition boards cheap and convert them to Ghouls n Ghosts to save money.
Each game requires a bit of work because of different memory mappers and some protection features. However, I hope to have all games available in a matter of weeks.
Great work!!! And thank you
Absolutely beautiful work!
What's the gut feeling here are we expecting if one game is working great it will be minimal work to get it compatible with the rest of non 1.5 cps1 games or do we think it's gonna need tweeking for each game,
Some features are only used by a few games so the first beta will not have everything in place yet. Then, CAPCOM protected the system by moving the locations of several things around for each game so there's a bit of work needed for each title
"expand the MRA file definition to support the 200+ ROM sets for CPS" :O
You rock!
Great work!
Once again thanks for the great work Jotego, community just have to thank 👏👏👏✌️😇
Nice I can't wait to play Ghouls'n Ghosts mame just doesn't do it for me.
Great work! :)
Fantastic work!
Great to read this :) - cheers!
Really impressive work JT. You are clearly a fan of some of my favourite games. DD & GnG. 👍👍👍 Are you perhaps a fan of Golden Axe too 🤓
Golden Axe and Shinobi, yes!
