Gnoll Rot-Walker - Ideation sketch
Hey folks! That one gave me trouble, but I'm pretty happy with what I got now.
At first I was looking for your typical zombie pose. In and of itself, the body language was alright, I guess, but it just didn't work all that great for a Gnoll.
I went back to the drawing board and settled for something with a lot more momentum and weight. The pose and composition still need more work, but I think I managed to convey what I wanted. Both dynamic and undead-ish. Let me know what you guys think ^^

Pose is brilliant... especially the left hand/arm looks like it is barely functioning at all... lower legs are perfect fighters pose maybe if the knee is dropped a little more to the inside it looks like a more unstable pose like for the arm... Really, all the other releass are great but this release got me all hyped up...
Well, reading comments like yours is super reassuring :D I wasn't sure people would like that pose. I am relieved to see that not only my intentions do get across (unsteady legs and arm as dead weight), but that people really seem to dig it ^^
I think the pose is great, gnolls are so ferocious that even in death they charge forward. I like the idea of the free arm sort of flopping in the breeze, as if it’s completely dead and acting almost like a streamer or ribbon would if you ran forward with one, if that makes sense.
That is, like, exactly what I was trying to convey, here, so thanks :D Having a standard zombie pose didn't really work, but I still wanted him to feel undead. The free flopping arm and unsteady gait felt like they could help in this regard ^^
Look like he is post swing but unsteady on his feet but still moving forward. I personally love it

Having a weapon protruding from the model would be pretty sick --- leaving us wondering just how is the gnoll able to keep fighting

Well i think a rusted and Broken shield witn along a wrecked sword
I don't really picture zombies holding shields since they don't protect themselves. But I'll need to find cool details to push this idea
