Gnoll Warrior - WIP
Hey folks! Here's my progress on the remaster of the Gnoll Warrior :D
I have reworked the head completely (resculpted a hyena head from scratch this morning and mixed it with my previous version, and I'm really happy with it now :)), dropped the left shoulder pad that made the figure too busy and went for cleaner anatomy instead. Often times, less is just more, I guess ^^'
I have also started making the mane more planar with clear cut angles and started adding transitional hair structures down the trapezius (most visible on mid figure, here, for now ^^)
I also changed the placeholder handle for an actual wooden handle and gave him a pair of shorts :D.
A lot more work is still required to call it done, but I'd say it already gives a good idea of what to expect :)

Really digging this new design.. any chance you could also do a simple export without the shield for variance or is this "hardmodelled" to the gnoll? Getting a second weapon in the left fist almost screams berserker already...
Thanks ^^ Making several versions of one single model is often more work than it sounds. I'd rather make the "two weapons" version myself, in which I'd model another weapon, choose the perfect elbow/wrist orientation etc. I generally don't make multi-parts models unless better support placement demands it, so if I were to release a two weapons variation of that model, both versions would probably have everything hardmodelled. It's a good suggestion, though, so I'll see what I can do, but I don't promise you anything ^^'
Was this one on your list for voting? https://hipwallpaper.com/view/T14sZK just in case voting comes up in the future again haha
No, it was planned from the beginning. I just wanted to remaster that old sculpt ;) Thanks for the picture, man! Saving that for later ;)
Just in time for me to run my Yeehongu (demon prince of gnolls) encounter. Wouldn’t that be an awesome sculpt
I suppose so, yeah ^^ I'm keeping the Yeenoghu for a later poll ;)
Absolutely gorgeous
Thanks buddy ^^
I love when the feet are just barely on the edge of the base, it forms a blank canvas for me to Accentuate the miniature, I also love the re work cant wait to see the rest of these guys. My party better be ready for a horrible onslaught of a gnoll pack.
Thanks :D I had to scale everything just right to make sure that guy can still be glued onto a 25mm base ^^ If that's also more space for you to have fun with the base, all the better ;)
Love it! Keep up the work!
Thanks buddy ^^
Very cool
Thanks mate ^^ I'm afraid there will be no actual Barbarian model but I guess you can still make do with this one ;)
