Petru Sync Pro
It’s a bit late on a Sunday night (for the UK) to post this - but nevertheless here it is:
https://youtu.be/1tsfrT1VIso
Watching this back on a large screen earlier made me spot a few annoying issues that I need to concentrate on improving in future videos. I think it’s still watchable, but it should be better.
This was my second attempt at making a video this week, the first device ended up getting shipped back to China after wasting a couple of days on it. The good news though is that with that one banished I’m now free to do whatever I want (any old time). So for the next video I’ve got something in mind from the 60s which has been sitting around for years waiting for me to assemble all the items I needed to make a video on it.
I should be able to get onto that tomorrow.
Have a good week and take care.

Compared to the fun generation rta-31, It still looks like a non accurate device. But this new one looks promising anyway with its multi function led’s. Still way to expensive. Ad a bit and you get 2x fun generation rta-31. the album thing on your right speaker I like but never got around to buying one.
Nice video. I do like this display and have been close to purchase it a couple of times (the original version) but other things came up. It is also interesting to see the difference between the line in and the microphone
My cats love it when I watch a Techmoan video.😸 Nice device, but a bit too expensive for my taste... I might try to make one myself one day...
I like the clock display mode. For decades the local swimming pool had a Wharton digital clock which looked like that. There is something pleasing about seeing the numbers done with an adequate number of "pixels" rather than just seven segments.
"Oh yeah. Take it off", gets me every time. I laugh out loud.
I was an early adopter of the original Petru stand, and I think this version adds basically everything I could have asked for. Little steep, but I guess that describes everything these days. The mode memory issue is a bit disappointing. Wonder if they'll address it.
One thing I didn’t notice until I watched the video back was how they moved the controls further towards the edge and etched the labels into the plastic rather than the wood…which I appreciate.
If they allowed integration with Home Assistant you could configure it much easier via the HA web UI and with a lot more configuration options than they currently have. This would also allow a design with no knobs on the front, just a large sloping screen. I could not find any pictures of the inside but it looks like the kind of thing an ESP32 would be ideal as controller. Considering an ESP32 costs about 5e and has bluetooth, wifi and is configurable via HA or an API, it's not exactly expensive to provide those kind of features.
personally, I love the knobs. I've got a enough flat-faced smart devices in my home.
Nice! I'm sure you'll still get people leaving dumb questions, even with the giganticnI bought this! Lol
Ah, that explains why I sold some of these colour changing ring lamp kits. Thanks for the link (although autocorrect changed it to evolution as it usually does).
Fixed it now. Which auto correct wanted to change to ‘Fixated it not’
I can't wait to see what the 60s thing is. I enjoy all of your videos but especially little the older tech stuff. I've learned so much about old tech and stereo equipment.
It seems well made. It fits well on top of the CD player. Thanks for a good video.
I always snicker when you do the film release bit. Please never stop it.
I’m waiting until I start to get complaints…because then I’ll make sure to do it for longer.
I bought the Pro about a month ago (I also have the original one). I like them both, but the Pro is a bit larger and can do a few more things. I had a heck of a time getting it through customs (or whatever it is called) here in New Jersey. I needed the maker to submit a form that the wood in the cabinet was not from an environmentally endangered tree. Took about two weeks to get it sorted out.
Meanwhile a modern day Tony Montana is bringing in as much of his product as he wants without any problems at all.
Love the money shot starting at 16:48 with the slow reverse showing all the sparkly bits of the latest evolution of Mat's Music Centre.😀
It’s a ‘sensory room’ for a senior citizen.
Has the Sony Hap gone into retirement ? Love both of those units, may buy one. Cheers, David from Canada
The Eversolo took over the role. I wouldn’t recommend the HAP any more. The sync software has been abandoned and all the streaming functionality was killed off long ago.
Beautiful device. I just got the first version in June. Very happy with that but this one is more desirable 👌🏼😃
Nice use of a Primal Scream lyric
I spotted the Rolling Stones one straight away, which one is Primal Scream?
