Domina 0.1.6 [REMAKE] Released!
Hello there:)
Sorry for not posting here for the past 2 months or so (I'm active on Discord almost daily though!). Unfortunately I suffered a fairly hardcore burnout in August and the only way I could actually continue working is by focusing on Madeline (instead of the promised v0.1.6). I'm dropping the promised follow-up update to the previous release now, a bit more bulky than originally planned.
Version 0.1.6 isn't a huge update, but holds a very significant change. Please read.
Saves will now be stored in your Documents folder, like other games.
The game will automatically create a new folder named 'Daemonum Imperatrix 1' (not naming it Domina to avoid raising eyebrows if you are afraid someone might see it) inside your Documents folder. All saves will be placed inside, instead of the game folder.
This means that you will never again need to transfer saves between updates. Simply download the new version and start it immediately, the game will automatically check the new folder for save data, no extra work required.
If you are coming from the previous update, you will still need to transfer your old saves (for the last time):
Copy your old saves. You need to copy the save(s) you want to transfer (only use saves created in version 0.1.5, saves from older versions aren't compatible!) AND the system files "global.rmmzsave" + "cgmz.rmmzsave".
Go to your Documents directory and create a new folder. Name it exactly "Daemonum Imperatrix 1" (without the ""). -- If you don't want to do it manually, you can also start a new game in the new version. Save your game as soon as you are placed in the Cerulean Fields. This will create the required folder.
Paste the files you copied on the first step inside the new "Daemonum Imperatrix 1" folder. Overwrite if asked.
Done.
This change only applies for the Windows version of the game.
Having to constantly transfer your old saves to the new version has always been a pain, and not everyone knew how to do it properly. This affected even OG Domina. This change should hopefully make everyone's lives easier.
In other news, I am currently finishing up the initial Madeline release. I considered combining this update with the Madeline one, but this release should be free (it was supposed to be a follow-up to v0.1.5!), while Madeline will initially launch in Early Access. I know Madeline has been delayed to hell, so I will just eat my ass and start replying with "soon(tm)" whenever someone asks. We all know I keep misjudging the amount of work needed and promising release dates that are unfeasible. I am also removing the "new update per x days" from my bio because I keep missing the deadlines and I don't want to lie to people lol.
I will be following a more flexible plan of "1 Domina per season" moving forward. This gives me ~3 months to launch and finish each Domina Realm, which seems reasonable considering the feature-creeped-to-hell scope of the remake. This places Madeline to be fully finished by the end of November, and then winter is Narcissa season!
Anyhow, moving to the changes included in v0.1.6. Note that the Android release is also ready, and I plan to upload it in a different post in a few days, just to first make sure this release doesn't include any serious bugs.

System:
Saves will now be stored in your Documents folder, like other games.
The game will automatically create a new folder named 'Daemonum Imperatrix 1' (not naming it Domina to avoid raising eyebrows if you are afraid someone might see it) inside your Documents folder. All saves will be placed inside, instead of the game folder.

See instructions at the top of the post if you are transferring your saves from v0.1.5.
Had a second major performance pass (because mobile FPS was still inadequate and it pissed me off).
Game should just run better all around.
Game will adapt to your own system. If your FPS is consistently trash (less than 45) it will automatically reduce its rendered resolution by a stage. If your FPS is still trash, it will reduce it by another and then another, up to half resolution. If it has overcorrected and your machine is suddenly working better (maybe you started charging it, which usually gives +15fps by its own), it will automatically raise the resolution back up by a stage (your game needs to be at 55+ fps for several consecutive seconds to trigger this). And so on. Note that this only changes the rendered resolution, not the game window. Text and images will simply look a bit blocky. I dislike this, but if this is the only way you can play the game, then so be it.
The above relates to the map scene. The combat scene is handled separately, because it's usually heavier (you might need lower rendering in battle but not on the map). The combat scene has its own stages of rendered resolution. The game will also disable some heavy overhead processes (like the blurred map background and other filters) if your combat FPS is still crappy. The game will remember the stage and settings it settled on in your previous battle, and will load them automatically on new battles (to avoid overly slow combat starts). Once again, if you can hit 55+ fps for several seconds, these optimizations will automatically go away to give you the original sharp image. You don't have to do anything.
In my tests, these changes give an extra 20-30 frames on lower end machines. If you are still having issues, I recommend playing the game with your laptop (and probably phone) charging. When not plugged up, your machine throttles itself to save battery. This significantly damages any game's performance. You may be able to force a max performance mode in your machine's settings regardless, but I can't tell you how to do that.
If your game was already running great before, none of these will affect you. Your resolution will never drop, and if it ever accidentally does, it will correct itself within seconds.
This is the last I can do about the game's performance. I really hated working on this and I just want to write content lol.
Sex Scenes:
New multi-Vampiress whipping scene + incest vibes, found in one of the cells in the Dungeon.
New second Bianca & Meredith torture scene, as a follow up to the above.
New Rae sock hypno scene, found in one of the beds in the Vampiress's Quarters (where Helena was).
New multi-Vampiress human doormat scene, as a follow up to the above.
New Rae foot + light blood scene, found on Rae.
New Meredith sex + bloodsucking scene, found on Meredith.
Note that all Vampiress scenes are only accessible if you completed Katrina's plotline by siding with Katrina, getting devoted to her, and pleasing her by having whipped Piotr at least once.
Crafting & Items:
New Item: Empty Bottle.
Brewing a potion now requires an Empty Bottle. It is included as part of the recipe.
Drinking a potion gives an Empty Bottle back.
When potions / bottled reagents are used as part of a recipe, you get their respective Empty Bottles back upon crafting the recipe.
Added Empty Bottles in the chest loot lists.
New Reagent: Eldritch Blood.
After the recent change of needing 3 different reagents to craft an impure potion, it became impossible to craft the standard health potion with ingredients only found in the Realm of Dusk. Thus, I'm adding a third reagent with the 'Health Restoration' property to make it possible again.
Eldritch Blood has the following properties: Health Restoration, Blood Resistance, Health Fortification, Eldritch Augment.
Can be harvested unlimited times from: blood waterfalls and veinbrooks in the Catacombs, Blood Engine. Costs an Empty Bottle.
Added it as an extra ingredient in the Vampiric Blood Elixir and Draught of Matron's Bane recipes.
Using Eldritch Blood as part of a recipe will give you back its Empty Bottle.
Added pickable recipe for Alchemical Paste on top of Master Valnus' counter in his lab.
Added new alternative recipes to craft Alchemical Paste, included with the above recipe.
You can no longer drink potions outside combat, allowing you to bypass Toxicity and become overpowered before starting a battle. Health/Stamina and Invisibility potions are excluded from this rule.
Invisibility Potions get an extra effect of increasing Dodge if drank in combat. They had no in-combat effect previously. They can now be used as a longer-lasting, lower-magnitude alternative 'Reflex Surge' potion.
Added additional and guaranteed Crimson Widowvine harvests inside the Blood Grove. The Night Panther inside is also guaranteed to spawn too though.
Impure Potion of Dread now increases Doomsense by a flat +1 instead of +20%. (Impure Potion of Soul Augment keeps the overpowered +20% due to its rarity).
Toxicity reduces 66% slower. Reaching Significant Toxicity or Heroic Dose by drinking too many potions now means that you will be stuck with these effects for a lot more turns, which is crippling.
Made common drops like pots of health, alchemical paste, copper scraps, now empty bottles, and others, significantly more common. Fortified Alchemical Paste too, so you actually get a chance to craft a Potent Potion or two.
Slightly reduced amount of chest loot.
Fixed one of the Catacombs chests that had the wrong loot table assigned to it.
UI:
Increased font size universally.
Increased size of map HUD. Also moved the health/stamina/devotion bars closer together.
Removed level and XP bar from menu. Domina doesn't use these mechanics.
Tweaked main menu screen to enlarge text/icons and color the stat names.
Tweaked several sub-menus to fix text overlaps and button placements/sizes.
Virginity:
Fun little minor system where the game tracks the MC's virginity.
Starting a sex scene (real sex scene, with vaginal or anal penetration) will make the MC lose his virginity. Game warns you before this happens so you can opt out to safeguard your wizardhood.
Depending on who you lose your virginity to, you gain a unique permanent effect that will stay with you forever.
Currently, the only real sex scene in the game is the new Meredith scene. Not every girl/Domina will have a real sex scene.
Thanks to Blana for the idea<3
Misc:
Accidentally disabled mouse click movement in the previous release. Oops! Fixed.
Increased padding at the end of message windows to eliminate text sometimes cutting off.
Nerfed the Bloodbound Wrought Iron Plate of Dread to +3 Doomsense instead of +5.
Buffed the following Bloodbound Wrought Iron Plates:
...of Sorcery: +5 Blasphemy.
...of Ferality: +6 Feral Instinct.
...of Will: +6 Debauchery.
...of Health Fortification: +30 Max Health.
...of Sorcery: +5 Blasphemy.
...of Recuperation: +7% Stamina Regeneration.
...of Apathy: +4 Apathy.
As a note, there are also the following Wrought Irons that have been left as is:
...of Keen Sight: +7% Accuracy.
...of Speed: +1 Action Point.
(All the above already exist as very rare loot drops in the deepest chests of the Catacombs. Agatha will always give you the 'Dread' one).
Increasing/Decreasing Doomsense mid-combat will affect the Domina's stats immediately. Previously the check ran only at the start of the battle and never again, making Doomsense potions/effects pointless.
Changed some dialogue to account for consistency with newly added content.
Soul Shard of Bastian the Unbroken: Changed Debauchery buff to Max Stamina buff, to fit him better.
Reduced breathing effect on Katrina's Ass Wipe grapple as it was overtuned.
Fixed the Dungeon being accessible after the portal room scene. It is now locked and remains locked permanently, unless you meet the criteria to get access to the Vampiress scenes (side with Katrina, please her by at least hurting Piotr).
Changed some text in the Dungeon door to explain why it is locked, in the case you sided with Katrina but didn't harm Piotr.
Fixed ladder shortcut so it can only be enabled from the top. It also auto-enabled at touch now.
Added a table in one of the Dungeon cells because one of the new scenes uses it.
Fixed Rae going missing permanently after playing the Bianca lesdom scene. (They are supposed to both go missing for a bit after the scene, and then return later on in gameplay).
Reduced distance for floating text labels to show (the 'Forage' and 'Use X' hints). They will now only show if you are inside the interaction distance. You still need to face the interactible object to interact with it though.
Fixed a duplicate case of water noise in the Catacombs.
Fixed some ambient sound getting broken upon transferring maps.
Fixed stair activation from the Dungeon -> Blood Engine transfer to apply on the entire stairs, not just a single tile.
Did not fix yet: The tile priority issue that makes you appear in front of stuff that should be behind you and vice versa. I forgor 💀

gotta say this new remastered version is great. havent played since old domina and this new one is way better. feels like an acutal RPG roguelite game. keep it up man
where is folder save? i wont continue last story
The saves are stored in your Documents folder, inside a folder called "Daemonum Imperatrix 1". The game automatically creates it after saving your game once.
I hope the reset version gives every queen a poop execution skill! I love it when my queen executes me with poop!
Could you update the discord link?
Sure! Which one is problematic? The ingame one or..?
