Progress Report #63 - UotW 2.0 game art re-make

Hey lads!

We parted ways with Peter, my graphic artist, and, as you know, past days I've spent on looking for 2 new graphic artists - one for characters, and another one for backgrounds. 

In the first poll a huge majority of you voted for the total art re-make, so that's what I'm gonna do - scrap whole character and background art and create new from scratch. It won't be an easy or fast task.

Then in the second poll I asked you about the art-style, and it went pretty evenly, so you made my life both harder and easier at the same time :P But knowing that both are fine (well, majority of you still went for this one on the screenshot above), I could make a choice, and after summing up all advantages and disadvantages, I decided to go with this one after all. So without any further and pointless writing, please welcome our new character artist - RDuke! New character art won't look exactly like that (it's just a draft, after all), so girl will be more feminine, there still will be a support for character customization etc., but I'll show you something more probably in June.

I'm still trying to get a proper background artist that will fit our new character art, and I'm talking with multiple people, so I might go with another poll soon, since I can't decide here either.

I'm still working on the v0.27 with Metro content, and I'm aiming for the end of May with its release date. It will be the last update using an old art. And that causes another problem - pregnancy will get delayed until we are done with an art update. While Metro is just about some new events, pregnancy is a whole new feature that will require me a lot of work for the upcoming months, so I can't close it in the next 2 weeks and go for the art re-make. Not to mention doing the same job first with an old art, then re-making it again with a new art, so it would be just a waste of time for me. Sorry about that, I know a lot of you have been waiting for this feature, but I ask you to wait "a bit" more.

Regarding game re-make, I want to re-release it with a new title, art in higher resolution, tutorial, and some overall game tweaks, like improved UI, Event Sheet and so on. With the new art, some animations will most likely break, too, so I have to re-make some. I estimate it to take around 1,5-2,5 months, and during this time updates won't come out, but I'll try to inform you often about our progress. I'm aware that many patrons will quit during this time, I know that some of you might not like the change in the end, but I'm mentally prepared and we will do our best to bring you all a better version of the game, and once we are done, hopefully it will be worth the wait and your support after all that time!
