Travel Writer Career (Semi-Active) ✈️
16th July 2026: Updated tuning for the newest version of my modlibrary, which is now all this mod requires. Please download the new version; the link is in the description. Fixed Travel Guide progress showing when the book hadn't been started and removed dependency on Write Books Overhaul for publishing. You can now publish as you normally would.
21st June 2026: Fixed an issue with career jumps/SimU
4th May 2026: Added a failsafe for a possible issue with the rabbithole travel assignments sending the wrong Sim. (Reported by Sophie) No need to redownload unless you're experiencing the issue.
26th April 2026: Now available for Willow Creek patrons. Also fixed an issue with the traditional dish assignment picker. Thank you so much to Lostgirl for letting me know.
21st April 2026: Fixed an issue with renewing your Sim's passport and also fixed a couple of typos
It's finally here! Loosely based on my old Travel Writer career, this is a few good weeks of work in one mod! I've added 10 levels, but you can work from home whenever you like, with tons of assignments to choose from. If you choose to go into the office, you'll get a custom uniform and chance cards to keep things interesting.
You'll also have the chance of receiving special long-distance rabbithole assignments, so be sure to apply for your passport when you're eligible. There are literally hundreds of ways to customize your writing assignments, allowing you to choose your focus or a world to write about. There's so much to do, so you won't get bored easily!
You can also start a personal Travel Blog, (unlocked at Level 2), bringing new ways to earn admiration. You can earn royalties from your blog posts, depending on your following, and post your tips, tricks, packing lists, and more.
I really hope you love it!

Hello! I really love your Travel Writer career mod, and I'm thoroughly enjoying playing it right now. However, I ran into an issue mid-game: I received an assignment to go abroad for coverage, but the option was grayed out because my previous passport had expired. After I renewed my passport, all the destination options for my scheduled trip completely disappeared, making it impossible to complete the task... QAQ
Hi! Could you send me a report, please? (Open cheat console, type in midnitetech.sim_report and send it over) midnitetechmods.com/contact
HI!! I am so obsessed with this mod! but, it started to make my game crash! It took forever to find out what was making it crash but I finally found out it was this one :( Is there anything I can do to fix it? (I am new to modding lol) Would love any help!
Hi Madison are you receiving an error?
Hi hi! I love this career so much. The Travel blog and destination assignments have such great variety. I'm having a small issue where i'm not always able to book travel for destination assignments. On the flip side, when I do book the travel, sometimes it doesn't complete the career task once they come back from the assignment. Otherwise this career is such a fun addition to my game, thank you for all the work you put into it! 💛
I downloaded this mod and some of your other ones on curseforge. Am I right in assuming that updates will come through on there shortly? Or should I update everything manually?
Hi Jess, yes I’ll be updating those shortly
I’ve been having one of my Sims vacation in different worlds and completing local aspirations. This is going to be the perfect job for her! I wasn’t able to find this page in your Careers collection, though — only the previous Travel Writer career is listed there.
ou trouver la traduction française ?
Have a look on Curseforge, there are usually translations there :)
You are fast, efficient, and full of great ideas!
Thank you, love your mods, and the travel writer mod is awesome! I am having trouble attaching photo and submitting a traditional dish article to complete a work from home day. photo and article are both "outstanding", but when i go to attach photo, the assignment doesn't appear, I can only choose photos. Thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much for your lovely comment!! I've fixed the issue, and thank you so much for letting me know :)
thank you for your hard work and dedication
Well, how timely! I'm playing the first generation of the Pack Legacy Challenge by RosannaTXT, and my concept for the heir was a travel writer. I'm excited to try this new career. Thanks so much!
How do we start a personal travel blog? Can't seem to find that option
Once you reach the 2nd career level, you’ll be notified :)
