Question Re: Expanse Content
Hi all! With only a handful of episodes of The Expanse left, I've been thinking about what type of content I'd like to make during the break between the end of Season 3 and whenever Season 4 premieres on Amazon! I see a couple people have mentioned that there'll be some information about Season 4 (including maybe a trailer) coming out at SDCC. Don't worry, I'll avoid watching the trailer and do my best to avoid seeing anything else from there until after I finish Season 3. However, once I'm done with that, I'll definitely react to a trailer, if there is one.
Beyond that though, I was thinking about what else I can do. I actually haven't had the opportunity to sit down and begin reading the books yet (although I have them here, just waiting for me). Would anyone be interested in seeing some videos, reflecting on my thoughts regarding the books (anything new I learned, differences or similarities to the show, etc.) as I read through them? Or do you guys have any other Expanse related ideas? Thanks!!!

Hi Molly! I am looking forward to the last few episodes and then we have a 4 month wait for season 4! I agree with the others that a review of the books (1-3) so far would be great. Last year when the show was cancelled, Bora Kutlu (another Screaming Firehawk and video producer) made this video (I am putting the link here) called The Expanse is all around us. You can save this for later but it came out before the end of season 3 so technically not a spoiler. I loved this video and really admired the production value of it. MIght be fun to react to this or at least have a viewing as I could watch it many times also! this is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WplL1eYq0lA Have fun with the next few episodes, all are great!!
Thank you so much for the link! I think what I will do is save the video for after I finish season 3. Then, I can watch it and react to it, along with the trailers, in the week after I finish all of the episodes. Super excited for them!
Well it's official, S4 drops on Dec 13.
Ahhhh! So far away! How did all of you wait this long for the new season?
I will take anything Expanse related from you, Molly! :) even the re-creation of Season 3 with your cats.
That would be so amazing. There's no way they're going to put up with it though! lol
Anything Expanse-related will be great!
Uh. Spoiler alert with the pics, I think. Book reviews and discussion sounds fun. There's also a lot of fan-made content from last year when we were all-in on #SaveTheExpanse. For your own personal enjoyment I am a huge fan of The Churn podcast (as well as the novella of the same name).
Thank you for the suggestions! The Churn novella is the one about Amos, correct? If so, I'll definitely be reading that!!! If you have suggestions for fan-made videos, do let me know!

SPOILER :(
FYI Molly, in case you haven’t seen it. First pics from Season 4
I'd love your thoughts on the books. Personally I think the books do a better job of world building (as is the way with books) but I think the show does a much better job with the characters.
There's a new sci-fi series on Netflix beginning July 25 called "Another Life" . Katee Sachoff from BSG stars in it. The trailer looks pretty good and hopefully they've taken a page from the Expanse on attention to detail - the Expanse has me kind of spoiled. This might be something to check out and see if it's worth reviewing.
Wait! That date has already passed! Have you started watching it? Is it worth reviewing, in your opinion? Obviously, I love BSG (and Katee) and good SciFi, so I'm curious to hear more!
From what I’ve gathered, season 4 will be based Corey’s book “Cibola’s Burn”. I verified it somewhat by seeing the book’s major character in the cast list of Season 4 on IMDB.
As long as you promise to stick with The Expanse, I'd be good with you checking out other great series (like Stranger Things, The Umbrella Academy, Big Little Lies, etc.) Most are 10 episodes or less, so will give you some great filler until S4 comes out.
Yes! Stranger Things will be starting very soon. Are you interested in full length reactions for that show? My plan for The Umbrella Academy was actually to binge the whole thing myself this week, and then do one long video for the Lannister level patrons, where I'd talk about my thoughts for the majority of the season and then react to and review the final episode. What would you think about that idea? I did watch the first season of Big Little Lies and thought it was pretty good. Did you find the second season to be up to the standards of the first (and worth reacting to)?
Recreating the entire sereis from the start using your cats as actors :D Jules Pierre Meow for example :D Anderson Claws..... Naomi DaCata....
Haha!
The book reviews definitely sound great. Also be sure to do a review of the S3 Crack vid once S3 is completed. :)
Ohhhh I didn't know there was another one! Yes!
I've really enjoyed book club-style discussion videos from other channels in the past, mostly on game of thrones stuff. They rarely seem to get many views, though, if that factors into your decision making. You might like Spacedock's videos on the ships of the Expanse but I don't really think they'd be worth recording a reaction to, since they're basically technical manuals on the different ships. They're pretty cool though because the channel actually got a deal with the production staff to get concept art and stuff, and they've been able to establish various little details about ship technology as canon within the universe. Worth a watch even if you don't record it for us!
Nice! Thank you for the suggestion - I'll definitely check them out!
Book discussions sound fun, also check out the novellas the show has covered so far (Drive, Butcher of Anderson Station). Gods of Risk technically takes place between book 2 and 3, but they might end up putting content from it into season 4, so I'd skip it.
Thank you for that information! I'll try to pick up the novellas too, but I'll avoid Gods of Risk for now!
The books are amazing. I'm currently reading the 3rd one now (Abbadon's Gate) so I'd love to hear your reviews of them.
It would be really cool to have a discussion about the books as you read them. I'm now reading the 7th one and it seems like the show and the early books are starting to blend in my head (just like GoT) so it would be refreshing to see you discussing them!
A book review sounds fun. Or even just the novellas. I'd also check those out.
