...and we will have a release date. Don't you watch though. We'll tell you the date :)
PS major announcements at San Diego Comic Con are promised, and probably a trailer for season 4, so be aware and on guard for spoilers.
Everything you said about Clarissa (aka Melba Koh) Mao's motivation sounds right to me. Plus, though: after the events on Io, the entire Mao family was destroyed financially and in terms of reputation. As if that's not enough, from Clarissa's perspective her father had been trying to harness the power of the protomolecule for the good of humanity whereas, to her mind, Holden - "that narcissistic asshole" and now quite possibly the most famous person in the system - brought all that down on her family out of a narcissistic desire for fame and fortune. As for the nucleus at the centre of the "bubble," Alex pointed out in the first scene that that's where the trapped torpedo was heading. Oh, and no shortage of cliffhangers coming in the remaining episodes :) Thanks as always.
What's interesting is that "Melba"'s real name, Clarissa was mentioned exactly once before in the show. Errinwright said it to Avasarala in S2E11 when he was talking about J-P Mao's children. That's how we know also that J-P has a son as well (name unknown).
