These are loose item ideas based on the suggestions from yesterday's direction poll. Some of these may have had their ideas adjusted or combined with other like-minded suggestions. The final product may or may not use the original wording, so these are the core of the items' functionality and flavor.

Ideas

Dream Traveler's Lantern — A dreamy lantern that seems to blur the more you look at it. You can cast the dream spell while holding it, and if you're the messenger of a creature's dream, you can teleport to that creature's location at the end of the spell.

Dream Saber — A misty blade that can put a creature to sleep, instead of dealing damage. If the creature has fewer hit points remaining than the damage dealt by the weapon, you can put them to sleep instead of reducing them to 0 hit points. The creature's surface-level thoughts are then known to you.

Belt of the Nightmare — A midnight-dark belt with the flaming horseshoe of a nightmare as its buckle. While wearing it, you have resistance to fire damage, and you can make a shadowy leap attack once a day. On a hit, you teleport to the location and deal bonus fire damage.

Dreamer's Ring — While wearing this ring lined with soft sheep's wool and inlaid with a small gem, any dream you have appears 5 feet above you as an illusion visible to everyone else who looks at it. A conscious creature can use an action to swat at the illusion, ending the dream early without waking you up.
