Renowned Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Occult Shears — A pair of daggers that combine to make a magical pair of shears. Items cut with the blades can't be repaired with the mending spell, and spellcasters hit by them make concentration checks with disadvantage.

2) Forefinger of the Ancients — A wooden staff from an ancient treant's bough. It regains charges daily, or all of them if you're in a forest. You can use charges to cast spells like awaken, barkskin, entangle, and tree stride. You can also plant the staff to permanently turn it into a petrified tree in its location: using it for a spell like teleport via plants has a percent chance to not cost a spell slot.

3) Starmetal Shard — A collection of pieces of starmetal that share a magical bond between them. You can recombine the shards to form different weapons, such as a pike, spear, shortsword, or dagger, or leave shards in a creature to deal bonus damage.

4) Jinxed Cat String — A whip that can crit on 19-20 and deals extra damage on a critical hit, as well as transform into a violin bow.

5) Paper Cat — A sentient origami cat that can refold into a fish or a bird to gain swim or fly speeds. It loves to explore and take notes on what it sees, and can be unfolded to read what it's seen in the past hour.

6) Brawl Stool — A bar stool that can transform into a club and shield, using the chair's legs as a club and seat as the shield. While sitting on the stool, you have advantage on saving throws against becoming poisoned, and any effect of a poison is suppressed while you sit.

7) Daddy Longlegs Bow — A longbow that resembles a spider. You can expend a charge to create a swarm of spiders where the arrow hits. The bow can also be transformed into a giant spider steed.

Thanks to everyone who submitted item ideas and voted for them this week!
