Elite Workshop Day 1 — What kind of item should we make?
Hey heroes! It's time to make a new item together!
Please vote on a direction and leave a comment with an item idea that's as refined or as vague as you like.
Three or more of your commented suggestions relating to the winning item direction will be up for a follow-up vote tomorrow!
Remember that this will be an official Saddlebag item and will not credit anyone for the ideas generated through this process. Please only bring ideas you're comfortable with sharing to the workshop!
Let's make something exciting together! See you back here tomorrow!

**Strategos Chariot** *Wondrous item, rare* This bronze chariot bears the mark of a great commander, and is designed to hold two people. All creatures within the chariot have half cover. You can take the reins and speak the chariot's command word as an action to summon a spectral centaur. The centaur follows your commands, has resistance to all damage, cannot speak or attack, cannot be detached from the chariot, and remains for 1 hour or until it drops to 0 hit points. After it vanishes, it cannot be summoned again until 1d12 hours have passed. When the chariot moves adjacent to an ally the ally can use its reaction to mount the chariot without provoking attacks of opportunity as long as there is space. You can speak a second command word as an action to cause the chariot to fold down into an ornate brass box with the commander's mark displayed on it. In this form, it weighs 10 pounds and fills a 12 inch cube. You can speak this command word again to revert it to its normal size. **High-tension Armor** *Armor (half plate), rare* This armor stores the energy from your motion, holding it in a network of complex components and releasing it to allow a massive burst of speed. When you use action surge you gain the benefits of the haste spell (no concentration required) with the following changes: it lasts until the start of your next turn, and you do not suffer a wave of lethargy when this effect ends. **Lodestone Bolts** *Weapon (ammunition), rare* These bolts are made of low-grade starmetal with a heavy, weighted head. When you make an attack using one of these bolts, you can choose to have it affect either you or your target. If you choose to affect yourself, the bolt either pulls you 10ft towards or pushes you 10ft away from the target. If you choose to affect the target, it must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw if you hit with the attack or be either pulled 10ft towards or pushed 10ft away from you. Once a bolt has been used, the starmetal is depleted and it becomes nonmagical. **Helm of the Visionary** *Wondrous item, rare* This helm is made of fine mithral with a solid metal visor. As an action you can flip down the visor to gain blindsight with a radius of 30 ft. You are considered blind beyond this radius, and can only see the area as a pattern of outlines projected on the inside of the visor. While the visor is in place you can use your action to focus on it, extending the radius of your blindsight to 60 ft until the start of your next turn. The helmet's visor remains active for 1 minute or until you flip it back up as a bonus action. Once the effect has ended, the helm cannot be activated again until the next dusk. **Deerstalker's Brogans** *Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)* These leather boots seem to strangely lighten your steps when you're in pursuit of your quarry. Your walking speed increases by 5ft while wearing these boots. Additionally, the boots have 7 charges. You can expend 1 charge to cast misty step as a bonus action or 2 charges to cast dimension door as an action. When you cast either of these spells, you can name a creature with which you are familiar, causing you to teleport up the the spell's range in the direction of that creature.
Idea: a shield made from the Triceratops crest It could add a +1 (since it's not as strong as meal) instead of a +2 to AC, and can imbue the strength and deetermination of a Triceratops on its wearer.
[Hunting] Soul Anchor Arrow Weapon (arrow or bolt), uncommon These purple glass arrows are often the preferred choice of hunters who wish to capture their target alive. The ammunition leaves no visible wounds behind. A creature struck by the ammunition takes psychic damage instead of piercing and must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw. On failure, the target is affected by the *slow* spell for the next 1 minute. On success, their movement speed is halved until the end of their next turn.
[Hunting] Wrath’s Bounty Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement) This heavy blue coin holds a twofaced figure on one side, the other blank. When you attune to this coin, speak the name of your target. The name becomes engraved magically on the blank side. While carrying this coin, you gain advantage on all Wisdom (Survival), Intelligence (Investigation), and Charisma checks when attempting to gather information or track your quarry. You can recall any information gathered in the past 30 days with perfect memory. Once per day, you can sense the general direction your target is if they are within 5 miles of you. Curse. Once you attune to the coin, you cannot rid yourself of it, no matter how much you try, it will always return to you the next morning. Your need to track down your target and exact revenge drives you to your own potential doomed end, no matter the cost. Your alignment becomes neutral if it wasn’t already. You have disadvantage against Wisdom saving throws, and if an action would further you from your end goal or help your quarry, you take 5d10 psychic damage each time this happens, but no more than once each day. The only way to lift the curse is to end the named person’s life, or confirm their death, or by a *wish* spell.
Dust of Tracking Wondrous item, uncommon Found in a small packet, this powder made of inert underdark mushroom spores resembles silky ash. There is enough of it for one use. When you use an action to throw the dust to a point you can see up to 20 feet away, it becomes invisible before settling to the ground in a 10-foot square. The dust remains there invisibly, for 1 minute or until 4 different creatures enter its area. While the dust remains it sticks to any creature that enters the space, activating once crushed underfoot. A creature that is affected by the dust leaves behind dimly lit footprints where ever they move for the next hour. These prints are only visible to creatures with darkvision.
Tweeter Tracker Wonderous item, Rare/Very Rare A tiny mechanical construct shaped like a bird or bat (your choice). As an action, you may speak the constructs command word as well as the name or description of your target as if by the locate object spell. The construct will fly above you, always pointing in the direction of your described target for one hour. This feature only works if both the you and your target are on the same plane of existence. Once this property is used, it cannot be used again until the next dawn. (VR) The construct flies to the target at a speed of 60 and up to one mile. You may use your action to see through the constructs eyes, loosing your own sight in the process. This item can be recharged by expending a spell slot of second level or higher. The construct gains an additional hour of flight time for each spell slot level above the second.
Smoke lounge- Maybe a portable-secret-doorknob that allows access to the lounge?
Idea: Triceratops horn maybe for bards to use bardic inspiration for something or for anyone to use and it has some sort of rallying effect. sth like Zealous Presence for Barbarians.
