Starmetal Staff

Staff, very rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

This staff reverberates softly in the presence of a great amount of metal. It can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. If the target is a creature that is made of metal or wearing metal armor, this bonus increases to a +3, and on a hit you can move the target up to 5 feet horizontally in any direction.

The staff has 3 charges, and it regains all expended charges daily at dawn.

Spells. While holding the staff, you can use an action to expend 1 of its charges to cast either the lightning bolt (5th-level version) or telekinesis spell from it, using your spell save DC and spellcasting ability modifier. This version of lightning bolt allows you to move any creature that fails the saving throw 10 feet horizontally in any direction, and this version of telekinesis can only target creatures or objects that are made of metal or are wearing metal armor.

Magnetic Interference. The staff emits a magnetic field whenever you use a charge to cast a spell from it, which remains until the start of your next turn or until you're no longer holding the staff. For the duration, attacks made against you with metal weapons are made with disadvantage.

"The gravitational fluctuations of Polaris are in large part because of the prominence of starmetal found throughout. Therefore, in your hand, you now hold the power to command what lies beyond your reach. To defy the lawlessness of the Drift. To control and move what eludes you—"
"—As long as it's metal."
"Right, as long as it's metal. I admit it's not a perfect allegory."
