Slowdown Tape

This roll of magic red tape is covered in tiny arcane scrawlings and is slick with snail slime. The tape is 1 inch wide, and there is 50 feet of tape in the roll. You can use an action to apply a 5-foot length of tape to a solid surface (such as a floor or a wall) within your reach. When you do, you can extend the tape in additional 5-foot segments by moving in a line alongside it as part of this action.

The tape creates an invisible 10-foot-tall barrier perpendicular to the surface it's applied to. A creature that willingly attempts to cross a barrier created by slowdown tape for the first time on a turn must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must spend 15 feet of movement to cross it.

The tape remains magical for 24 hours or until it's removed, at which point it loses its magic. A creature can use an action to remove a 5-foot length of tape within its reach by succeeding on a DC 13 Strength (Athletics) check. Alternatively, dealing 10 slashing damage to the tape renders a 10-foot length of it nonmagical (5 feet on either side of the slash).
