Eldritch Crosier
Staff, very rare (requires attunement by a warlock)
This staff can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff. When you make a melee attack with it, it has a reach of 15 feet, as a magical tentacle lashes out from its end. If the target is a creature, it takes an extra 2d6 psychic damage on a hit. The tentacle disappears immediately after the attack."
While holding the staff, you can use an action to cast the black tentacles spell from it, using your spell save DC. Once you do, the spell can't be cast from it again until the next dawn.
Eldritch Tentacles. Whenever you roll initiative, an obviously illusory tentacle appears from the ground at a point that you can see within 30 feet of you. At the start of each of your turns in combat, roll a d6; on a 6, another tentacle appears on the ground at a point that you can see within range. On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to move each tentacle to another point that you can see within 30 feet of you and make a melee spell attack against a creature within 10 feet of it, using your spell attack bonus; each tentacle must target a different creature. On a hit, a creature takes 1d6 psychic damage, and its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. A tentacle remains for 1 minute, until you dismiss it (no action required), or until you're incapacitated or die. You can have up to three of these tentacles at a time.
He had been a man of faith, a shepherd to his flock. But when darkness rose against him and his faith was unanswered, he called instead to anyone willing to listen.
In his desperation, the darkness came to him. And in his hand was no longer a shepherd's crook, but an icon of his new devotion.
A devotion of broken promises and broken minds.
