Twin Heartstring Bow

Weapon (shortbow), rare (requires attunement)

Also called a lover's bow or Cupid's bow, this bow features two bowstrings that resonate while they touch. This magic weapon uses 2d4 for its damage dice, instead of a d6. If the two d4s roll the same number, the target of the attack must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed by you until the end of your next turn or until it takes any damage. If the charm ends early as a result of you dealing damage to the target, the target takes an extra 2d4 psychic damage as its momentary infatuation is shattered.

Charming Arrows. This bow has 3 charges and regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn. You can use an action while holding the bow to expend 1 of its charges to cast the charm person spell from it (save DC 15). Alternatively, you can forgo making an attack with the bow to expend 1 of its charges to cast the spell instead: when you do, you fire an illusory, harmless arrow from the bow at the target, which must be within 30 feet of you. This version of the spell allows you to choose a creature other than yourself to be the one the target is charmed by; the other creature must be within 10 feet of the target. A creature that's already charmed by you has disadvantage on the saving throw against the spell when cast from the bow.

To see this weapon alone—its flowery curves more kin to a painter's skill than a bowyer's craft—it becomes all too easy to picture it held by infantile hands 'neath a cherubic face...and stunted wings. But cherubs, too, are angels: messengers to the gods and soldiers in the neverending war against corruption.
And in all the heavens, few forces can match love—for what else can grow so rampant, burn so passionate, or cut so deep in its dissolution? It can end wars or ignite them, make fools of the proud and lionhearts of the meek.
So when you look upon this bow, see not merely its gilded filigree, but the irrepressible, miraculous emotion its celestial creator echoed in its every sway.
