Warding Shield

Armor (shield), rare

This magic shield is made with repurposed magical technology, which emanates with an abjurative force. The shield has a special well of hit points, up to a maximum of 20. It regains 1d10 + 10 of these hit points daily at dawn, even if it had been reduced to 0 hit points. When you take damage while holding the shield, you can choose to deduct that damage from the shield's hit points first; you can make this choice after knowing the amount of damage dealt.

"You can never trust only magic to protect you, nor can you only iron. But somewhere between the two is something you can trust. A perfect balance between the inexplicable and practical."

If the hit points reach 0, is the shield destroyed? Or is the well just dry?

The well's just dry, that's all!
