Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Tagelheart — A black bone tagelharpa with stylized hearts etched into it. You gain a bonus to Charisma (Performance) checks made with it and can detect the heartbeat of all creatures within range. You can expend charges for various effects, such as outlining creatures based on their intentions (i.e. hostile or friendly), casting the calm emotions spell, or engulf a target in sorrow which deals damage and potentially frightens them.

2) Lamp of the Dying Sun — A soot-covered gold lamp that doesn't consume oil to burn. As an action, you can cause the lamp to emit a burst of sunlight and attempt to blind all creatures nearby, as well as extinguish nearby non-magical lights and fires. The lamp goes dark afterwards, reigniting the next dawn.

3) Preservation Jar — A jar for preserving body parts. A creature whose body part is placed in the jar is considered under the effect of the gentle repose spell. You can perform an hour long ritual to cast true resurrection from the jar, targeting the creature whose body parts are in the jar. After casting in this way, the jar is destroyed.

4) Ambitious Medic’s Badge — A magical badge etched with a raven feather and herb sprig. Wearing it replaces any lost limbs with blue, rubbery replacements. You gain bonuses to Medicine checks, know the prestidigitation and spare the dying cantrips with some modifications, can restore hit points to other creatures using your Hit Dice, and determine other creatures' creature types and health status.

5) Seekers Echo — This alcoholic potion causes an illusionary effect of your appearance subtly shifting, sometimes taking on alternative versions of you. A rarer version grants you the effects of the blink spell for 1 minute.

6) Cacti Staff — This prickly staff covered in blooming desert flowers deals additional piercing damage when you hit with it. You can also expend charges to fire a barrage of cacti needles to deal damage as well as additional damage each time they move while the needles are stuck in them.

7) Bloodhunger’s Boon — This black obsidian ring is carved to resemble a vampire bat, with two fangs pointing down into your finger. You can press down on the bat's head to inflict piercing damage to yourself, and for the next 1 minute, all your attacks are considered magical and you deal additional necrotic damage with piercing and slashing weapons.
