The Plight of Lunelure, the Ghost Village! New Setting and Subclass!
Ah, Lunelure, my little stage.
You should have seen it in the beginning, before my arrival: fields dry as parchment, a river coughing mud—such pitiful sights! I promised them a life of plenty, and all I required was their trembling devotion. I gave them rain, fertile soil, and a river filled with life.
But mortals are faithless things. When it came time to exact the full price of their agreement, they balked. No drums, no dance, no light, only silence beneath my moon. Such drama over so small a payment: their firstborns. But ours was a covenant that could not be broken. So I took their children anyway; they serve me now as the Veylin, bright little masked shadows that flit and whisper. They watch their parents, they judge, they tattle. I find them amusing.
I’m not a monster. I simply believe in the upholding of the ends of bargains. I was even gracious enough to give Lunelure another chance! I preserved the village under my gaze in the Feywild. In the light of the full moon, they perform. When dawn comes, Lunelure folds neatly into the dark, like paper pressed flat. The villagers do not age. They do not die. They prepare. Always they prepare.
Perhaps next time they’ll convince me of their devotion.
Lunelure is a quaint farming village trapped in an endless cycle of performance and failure brought forth from the archfey lord Caelith. The people of Lunelure sought fertile soils and bounty, but when they refused to pay the archfey his due, he took it upon himself to make the efforts worth his while. And his ego.
This is the last setting from Year 7, and the last setting and subclass to be included in Book Four. You can look forward to the Kickstarters for Books Three and Four, together, sometime in the first half of next year. I literally have the books' design files open now...it's happening!
The subclass from this month is the Puppeteer Wizard. These wizards use arcane strings they generate when casting spells to manipulate and forcibly move targets, allowing them a ton of control over a battlefield and the creatures on it.
Speaking of subclasses, here's a reminder that we also have official PAID subclass playtest sessions on the Discord! So please feel welcome to sign up for them and get early looks and hands-on time with them! As always, further revisions will be made here with published updates as they're released!
What's Included:
20 pages of lore, puzzles, events (good and bad), and fun things to do.
Bonus maps donated by Cze & Peku!
4 new creature statblocks!
New Wizard subclass: the Puppeteer! Command your enemies' movements, moving them around like puppets, and manipulate the items around you with a special version of animate objects!

Updates:
V1-01 of the Wizard fixed the label at the top of the subclass, and included a fix to the way that spells are learned in the second half of the Animation Savant feature.
